I think everything Linkin Park has made has been great! Yeah i admit I deffinately preffer the first two albums and wish they would go back to their roots and make another album like that but as Chester has stated in an interview the band have wanted to experiement and make the music heavy in different ways. Not all the bands are the same but if you look at it from their perspective they probably grew tired of their old sound and wanted to try something new that would excite them and be refreshing to play. I hate it when people call them shit, how can anybody call a band shit that has millions of fans and has sold thousands of records/downloads? They must be doing something right to hold that status. And what other band is so diverse, there back catalouge of tracks means that they can adapt their set to play almost any festival, if anything Linkin Park are genius!
