Yup. That's what it came in. Tesco does it too! Very satisfying and it looks ace! Just finished a spiced red ale by Sharp's brewery. Sweet red fruit, caramel, coriander, Belgian yeast flavour. 9% abv. Bloody marvelous! Now drinking a Simply Golden Ale brewed for Tesco by Marston's. Not a complex flavour, but as generic English bitter goes, it's pretty good shit. Really refreshing, with a nice hop character and, interestingly enough, a slightly wine-ish taste. Not outstanding, but good nonetheless.Marks & Spencer usually do those in wine size bottles in the big tubes. Meantime are an awesome brewing company! -
Drinking a Greenwich English whisky barrel aged ale, brewed for Tesco by Meantime brewery. This is fucking awesome. A little peaty, a vanilla sweetness, surprisingly very crisp and light-bodied for a porter, too. Extremely smooth and quaffable. These guys are definitely one of my favourite English breweries.

Mogwai - Young Team

Machine Head - Bloodstone & Diamonds Cheers for that, Macabre.

Never got them. No real obvious reason why they were thought to be "stand out"' date=' the output always seemed ordinary to me.[/quote'] Yeah, nothing about them is remotely approaching 'outstanding' imo, but it's just done in a way that I personally found quite enjoyable, for what it is. Not sure I'll feel compelled to return too soon, though.

Okay, so maybe 'enjoying the crap out of this' is a bit of an exaggeration, but as far as pleasant, middle-of-the-road stuff goes, this really ain't bad at all.
-
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm Dunno if it's the funny mood I'm in as modern British indie rock/pop is generally a pet hate of mine, but I'm enjoying the crap out of this.

Have A Nice Life - Deathconsciousness

Behemoth - The Satanist I think it's the greater black metal influence and surprisingly infectious melodies that make this shit so good.
-
Well perhaps a little harsh but I've given them more then enough opportunity to make a lasting impression. Behemoth bore me' date=' plain and simple, there's nothing about that which makes me think "hey what was interesting let's see where this goes". I haven't heard The Satanist but really don't expect it to change my opinion. To date there has only been one band who I didn't like, and later changed my mind about, and that was Death Angel.[/quote'] I've never been that moved by Behemoth either, but I think The Satanist is a real game changer. It's been really popular with many who didn't consider themselves Behemoth fans previously, and even people who don't tend to dig extreme metal in general seem to be lapping it up.

I understand not liking Behemoth, but to objectively label them as 'excrement' is a little harsh, I feel. I thought The Satanist was a fucking phenomenal piece of work, and it's not even the sort of thing I tend to go for that much.Behemoth may well defecate upon Demon Hunter but given both bands produce little more then sonic excrement the point is moot. -
The Rochefort 10 is a masterpiece' date=' an excellent choice for best beer ever.[/quote'] Yup. my favourite beer by quite some distance. Enjoyed a few bottles of BrewDog Hardcore IPA last night; a beer I love more and more each time I drink it. Finished with a beer by Sadler's brewery called Mud City Stout. Would highly recommend to anyone, particularly those who enjoy English real ale. Brewed with cocoa and vanilla pods, smooth with loadsa coffee, and a hint of smokiness. At 6.6% abv, very satisfying!

Killing Joke - Self-titled

Just polished off a Rochefort 8. Not as intense as 10, my personal favourite, but makes up for it in drinkability, and it's still pretty complex and flavourful, with notes of chocolate, toffee, scotch, orange, raisins. Great brew!

That's funny' date=' I like it better than anything they've done since Jane Doe.[/quote'] I really like the production and it does have some great moments on it, but they never quite hit those insanely infectious grooves, and there isn't really the eclecticism or jarring variation of tempos that I've come to expect from their albums. It all seems to pass by in a bit of an unforgettable blur. Is it the standard or extended release you listen to?

The one Converge album that hasn't really clicked with me so far.Converge - All We Love We Leave Behind -
Bleed from Within - Uprising

Surprised you like Nevermind tbh, FA. Thought it'd be too basic and poppy for your tastes. NP: Isis - Oceanic
-
Nirvana - Nevermind If there's a better collection of aggressive pop songs with guitars out there, I'd love to hear it.
-
Deftones - Koi No Yokan White Pony will always be my personal favourite, but objectively speaking, I think there's a very good case for this being their best album. The consistency, the hooks, the seamless flow, the hooks, the vocals, the hooks. Mesmerizing.

Alice in Chains - The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here

The drum sound alone on that thing is fucking incredible, probably the best I've ever heard! My no. 1 album of last year, no doubt. The production on To Be Kind is amazing in its own right, I highly recommend that album on a pair of really good speakers with no distractions.
