My favorite metal bands are Amon Amarth, Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom and Immortal. However, I play in an alternative rock band. Not metal. I am from Andover, Hampshire in the UK. For some reason this information does not display in the location field. Even though I have entered it in this profile!

  1. Here we go! “taxe de douane à percevoir” What is this? It looks like €9.00 but the writing is a bit illegible! I Googled that tax but all the pages and results were in French! I’ll post the Greek and Brazilian ones later. Any French people on this forum?
  2. Yeah, it’s annoying! We have only sent one parcel (containing two cassettes) to Australia and it was not returned to us so either they paid the tax or, like you said, there is no tax in Australia. I might find the answer with Google but first I thought I’d try to find out what people know on here. I assumed other bands would have this issue. I’ll post/attach the French paperwork first when I’ve scanned it or photographed it and see if anyone knows what that’s all about!
  3. Hi everybody, I was wondering is there is anybody on this forum from any country other than the UK that can tell me anything about import tax when you get music merch from the UK? I am in a band and we have had some merch returned from Greece, France, Lithuania and Brazil with the reason for the return given as “unclaimed”. It turned out that these countries and maybe all countries have a tax on post that the receiver has to pay to get the parcel. We didn’t know anything about this! Could anybody from anywhere outside the UK post on this thread to let us know if you have to pay import taxes to receive merch from the UK. I will add some more details later. Massive thanks for your help, Gazza https://maximumrobot.bandcamp.com/
  4. Hey everybody, I wondered if anybody would be interested in checking out one of my band’s new songs. We are from the UK and Bulgaria. It’s not technically metal (grunge to be fair!) but we all have metal influences for sure. Thanks for checking us out! https://youtu.be/IHEjjeI-VjQ
  5. I listened to the first song “Rage” and “At the Wall”. Sounds good! + The lights in your drums look cool! I will be checking you guys out in more detail for sure later but for now I have subscribed to your channel. All the best and happy new year! :-)
  6. OMG. You even went in the sea with your instruments! Cool video and catchy song. Nice to see someone else with a B.C Rich too. I have subscribed to your channel and will be checking out more videos for sure.
  7. Fair play to you guys for taking a drum kit down to the beach! I'll check out your videos later tonight.
  8. I don’t see the point in a video with just a picture! You might as well just post the picture as a .jpg and a link to the audio. I know a lot of bands do that but I just commented here because it was the first post in the section. I did think about putting some of our stuff on YouTube with the artwork as a still picture but I couldn’t be fucked to do it in the end. Fair play to you if you’re reaching people with your music that way. Artwork looks cool BTW!
  9. I can highly recommend this video. This sort of music is not really my cup of tea. However, it was a jolly nice listen. Bits of it reminded me of My Dying Bride. I liked the solos and the vocals. The artwork is stunning too. I spent ages on Deviant Art checking out that artist’s stuff! Have subscribed too.
  10. Thanks Herbert! I just checked our stats and of the 3 people who have listened to it you're the only one who listened to all of it. Though to be fair the other two may have listened to 89%! Anyway, thanks for listening and posting your kind comment. We appreciate it!
  11. Thanks Eternal, I wasn't expecting that! I've found that when you record music it's difficult to knew whether to plug it or just leave it unlistened to on the web. Especially when you haven't played live, haven't got any videos and you're a bunch of absolute nobodies. Not something I actually thought about when I started making music! Thanks for listening.
  12. I’m the guitarist and vocalist in this band from the UK and Bulgaria and thought it would be nice to get some opinion from metal listeners. We’re alternative which might be not heavy enough for you guys. It’s pretty much a rip off of loads of other stuff and annoyingly we haven’t played live yet. We’re still practicing! Not that we can practice in the lockdown! But I thought I’d give the recording a plug anyway. Thanks for reading this. https://maximumrobot.bandcamp.com/track/parasite
  13. I like the style of the music and the tunes. Especially the weird folk instruments! I listened to all five songs on the 8th of March 2020. Whatever your Band Camp stats say! I don’t trust them! I really dig the forest theme and imagery used. BTW. Track 3 is insanely catchy!
