Re: best metal guitarist (your opinion) Tony Iommi - Black Sabbath ... No contest !

Re: Bullet For My Valentine
You probably wont find much support for bands like these here or any actual metal forum' date=' for one given the 'core' elements and secondly and possibly the most infuriating factor, is the pop elements infused with the 'core' elements. Perhaps, the most maddening factor with bands such as BMFV and FFDP is the fact they dumb down heavy music to make it palatable for pop fans, and this is why even with the so-called "core" elements is why I hate this band so much.[/quote'] -
Re: Hello to all
Your most welcome Barbie and quite a good list of favorite bands thereAt last a power metal fan that likes the founder members "Helloween" the other bands you list aren't too bad either. I'll have to check out Angra, Aria, Finntroll and Korpiklaani, as I have not heard any of their stuff. You may wish to check out Sheavy, a stoner rock band that sound not to dissimilar to early Black Sabbath. On a more melodic and progressive front, Dream Theatre are worth a sniff tooKeep on Rocking -
Re: Classic Album Tours
A good mix of old and new is what's called forHowever some tours are great with just one album being represented. Queensryche's "Operation Live Crime" is one good example that I can think of -
Re: Megadeth!!!!!
Megadeth = Great & Although not the best of singers D M has a voice that is unique and stands out from the crowd -

One of the Industrial Metal scenes innovators / inspiration

Re: MotorHead Not into them when I was younger, however they have grown on me over the years. Some of my favorite tracks are Ace Of Spades, Orgasmatron & 1916 !

Re: IRON MAIDEN I like Maidens stuff, especially the first 3 Albums. However although good, they became a bit samey and lacked variety. I much prefer Helloween and Gamma Ray and I am English

Re: IRON MAIDEN
The Dianno albums are my favorites. Not that I hate Bruce' date=' he just doesn't give Maiden the attitude injection Dianno did.[/quote'] -
Re: Saxon

Re: The best Power Metal bands
Sabaton are the best Power band on the planet. As for all their songs sounding the same, isn't that true of 90% of bands, especially DragonForce and you seem to like them. Along with the bands already posted I like... Adagio Angra Arthemis At Vance Axxis Bloodbound Cage Cain's Offering Cardiant Celesty Cellador Communic Conception Crimson Glory Crimsonfire Crom Dark Moor Dawn Of Destiny Demons & Wizards Dream Evil Ebony Ark Edenbridge Edguy Elvenking Evergrey Freedom Call Gaia Epicus Gamma Ray Grave Digger Heavenly Helstar Holyhell Iron Fate Iron Fire Kiuas Labyrinth Machinae Supremacy Masterplan Mercenary Nevermore Orden Ogan Powerglove Powerwolf Primal Fear Pyramaze Rage Rawhead Rexx Revolution Renaissance Serenity Seven Kingdoms Seven Witches Sinbreed Skyfire Soulspell Spellblast Steel Prophet Stratovarius Thaurorod Thunderstone Vicious Rumors Wuthering Heights Yngwie Malmsteen 3 Inches Of BloodInteresting to see that the Inventors of Power Metal " Helloween" are missing from your list and these are indeed not samey at all. Love Yngwie Malmsteen however he is more Neo-Classical than power Metal ! -
Re: Rate the song above you!
3/10, all i say, I don't like Helloween Sd0TKxShqzI1/10 not very original and sounds like 100's of bands of this ilk. Like the energy though -
Re: Rate the song above you!

Re: My Lords (and Ladies) of Metal...
How are you? My name's Vicki, I'm 23 and I was born, raised and still live in Liverpool (England). Been of fan of 'Metal' music for over 10 years (my Dad's been listening to Metal since before I was born so, I've grown up around it). Grew up listening to (although not necessarily knowing what I was listening to at the time) The Big Four, Iron Maiden, Machine Head, Pantera, Testament, Exodus etc. Still listen to them now. I've added a few more bands to this list since but, this is the base of what I listen to today. I'm not very adventurous in the sense that I don't go looking for new bands to listen to but, I do tend to look up most bands that are promoted in magazines and on the internet. I love going to festivals and concerts. I get irritated if the music live doesn't sound near enough to how it was recorded (puts boot up Kirk Hammett's butt). Anyways, that's pretty much me. I'm not a girly girly in the slightest so, feel free to live free. If it's not harming anyone, do what you will.I like your big 4 or did you mean big 5 -

Yngwie Malmsteen, the king of Neo-Classical Metal and probably the best guitarist to ever walk the planet

Re: The Official Country Of Metal Poll
My personal view is that while England will always be the home of metal' date=' Sweden is probably the country of metal at the moment, producing lots of high calibre bands over a range of sub-genres.[/quote']
