Wasn't sure where to put this as I do all the instruments in my black metal project, I want to try and focus on the lyrics here as they are not in English. This thing has been going on and off for many years since the mid 2000s back when I was still in high school. Had songs that I recorded in the early 2010s but never finished them. I was involved with an Industral band for awhile and completed songs with them but barely got to do songs for my Black Metal stuff. I've heard about many Black Metal string instrument players, in particular guitar players that don't use a pick, this being mostly influenced by folk guitar techniques. If I remember even Burzum itself doesn't employ the use of picks on electric guitar as I'm not sure if I've ever seen Varg in his crappy videos use a pick.
All my lyrics are in Latin, mostly about sorrow, death or religious related experiences (I worship the goddess Diana). Latin is different from English in that it is completely rhythm-based in poetics, it also has something called long and short vowels which is something English doesn't have I think. So far I've never heard of a form of Latin free verse which is mostly a French thing imo that ended up in English at some point in history.
As far as playing all the instruments is concerned, I am aware of most general techniques on practising without equipment, particularly a drumkit. Atm I have an acoustic guitar and know people who have personal studios in their homes. I just need to practise. My favourite black metal vocals are mostly influenced by Attila Csihar and Niklas Kvarforth. I can do Darkthrone screams. I used to do wailing in jams with fellow Black Metal musicians in the late 2000s which they thought was really cool. The vocals I've always wanted to do on recordings however I want to sound like Halmstad by Shining and De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas by Mayhem.
