That's awesome, I've always wanted to try skydiving. Maybe one day... I could imagine the huge beard being pretty distracting when you're falling through the air at terminal velocity.

There's nothing quite like taking the plunge from 13,500'!

Quite the beard, dude. You look like the drummer from one of my old bands, except he shaved his head.

Thank you, sir! I, too, used to shave (I mean buzz) my head. Here's a photograph from 2012 when I used to skydive regularly when the beard was much shorter, but my hair was buzzed off.

  3. I have been growing a beard and taking it seriously for well over a year now. Beard oil, beard conditioner/shampoo/wash, and the right comb(s) is crucial to maintaining a healthy and good-looking beard. Also, a healthy diet is incredibly important and some growers use Biotin for healthy and fast growth.

Welcome. I'm into a few of the bands you listed, though I veer more towards DM in general. I love reading as well, when I get a chance; sci-fi/fantasy (LOTRDune and Zelazny's Amber have been lifelong favorites), historical fiction (Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle), some nonfiction (big fan of Dennett, Pinker, some Dawkins, recently finished up Philip Glass's new memoir, working on some Braudel). And Shakespeare, though it's been quite some time since I last read through the plays.

    Hope you enjoy the forum.

Thank you! I, too, am fond of Death Metal. I need to read Dune! Thanks for the reminder.

Some quality bands and a bunch of authors I'm not familiar with / have not read. I mostly opt for Edgar Allen Poe or H.P Lovecraft (could you tell) when reading. Throw in a bit of Stephen King, J.R.R Tolkien, and E.T.A Hoffman as well. Really do need to expand my literature collection. I do so much reading for my degree though that reading for pleasure isn't always a priority.

I, too, have an affinity for Poe & Lovecraft!
