Re: Metal Forum Top 10 Power Metal Bands What about Avantasia? or Edguy? Sonata Arctica? Also regarding Dragonforce. Minus the horrible sound guy who did the Grasspop festival. Dragonforce live is pretty awesome. seen them twice, they put on a good live show and actually play the songs pretty well.

Re: powerglove!! @Holy Terror. those two descriptions describe Symphonic metal better then power metal. Though they are fairly prevalent in Power Metal as well.

Re: Viking Metal iceni The vikings get so much credit because we live in a western culture. In western culture typically western influences are dominant. If you go to China, Japan, India, i'm sure you will find eastern dominated metal such as you are proposing. Also viking's are associated with much of what western metal is all about (Drinking, Fighting, Fucking, and exploring)

Re: Dragonforce...the most popular power metal band at Hot t Dragonforce warrants top billing here for sure. They go out, write outragous songs....then play them live. I think Dragonforce gets alot of flack because people see the videos of them from Grasspop 05'? and assume because they sound like garbage (due to grasspop having horrible sound) that they can't play. I also totally agree with Murph on the dislike for Bullet for my Valentine, Slipknot, etc.
