Being open to trying out anything and everything isn't something to apologize about. That's a good thing, and you should try to hold onto it as long as possible. That being said, while no one's going to ever stop you from listening to what you want, you'll find that most metal fans tend to have very strong opinions about what is and is not "real metal", not to mention what is and is not GOOD metal. Depending on where you're at, bringing up certain bands or styles just isn't going to net you a lot of positive conversation. You need to know how to "read the room", and adjust accordingly.

Sure.Thanks.Maybe i should ask for some another genres recomendations, like thrash, black and death. But i am really focused at metallic hardcore these days.

Yeah we get it cara, exploring the wide world of music is muita fun. Wouldn't ever want to inhibit your curiosity. Listen to whatever you want and you can even feel free to post about it here on the board for anyone who may be interested. Doesn't even have to be metal, that's not a problem, it's all good. You just don't need to start a whole new thread for every little metal adjacent fringe micro-genre that catches your ear.

They have dedicated threads for all kinds of different metal sub-genres here on the site, so if you don't see one for rap rock or alternative rock or metalcore or whatever, maybe take that as a clue that it's outside the scope of what most of us are interested in or would consider to be metal. Esse velhinho has spent many years on forums seeing the same silly questions from what I'll assume are young people about the same tired old mainstream sub-genres that too often get lumped in with metal, like rap rock and nu-metal and metalcore...over and over again. So perdoe-me if I got annoyed upon seeing the six millionth one and took it out on you. Know that your participation is welcome here mano. Have fun.

Understood. You speak spanish or portuguese?I mean,i am brazilian,so i understand some spanish and Portugal's portuguese.

How's it going, my fellow metalhead?  Love several of these choices!  Rage Against the Machine, Biohazard, and Stuck Mojo have all long been favorites of mine.  I haven't checked out much Clawfinger, although I've enjoyed the little bit that I've heard through the years.  Although I don't play as much rap/metal as I used to, I definitely enjoy it from time to time.  Have you ever checked out a band called Insolence?  They're really solid!

    Thanks for recommendation.

Before everybody piles on here, I'll say that we don't actually have a specific thread for all this stuff that's open that I can find, so give the kid a break. If you don't like the stuff, like most of us don't, fine... we get it... you have been heard.

To the OP, like other people posted, you probably aren't gonna get much good feedback for this stuff here because it's not what we're into. Old Faith No More is great in my book, that's about it for me. I'll leave this one up and maybe you'll get some takers. Please stop posting a bunch of threads about it.

I don't want to force anyone.Sorry if sounded like that.Just asking to recommendations. But i ain't just listening rap/funk.Actually I am listening death metal hardcore influenced (Entombed and Dismember),Thrash (Overkill),Neoclassical (Yngwie Malmsteen and Symphony X),Sludge (Crowbar),Groove (Vision of Disorder and Pro-Pain),Metalcore (Poison the Well,Earth Crisis,Integrity,Coalesce and Eighteen Visions) and now those alternative metal artists.

At the mention of Rap Metal you've given Scott Ian a hard on.

With the idea of an entire thread he's going to leave his wife for you.

Just don't tell him he didn't invent it and the two of you will live happily ever after.

I checked in Wikipedia. He divorced with his first wife.Is she did some bad thing to him or unlike that?

I forgot Anthrax did a rap metal song with Public Enemy.Maybe explain the groove i am talking about.

But this applies to most of the rap metal bands?Or not?

  4. Is Rap Metal relative?I am asking because the first rap metal band i listened was Rage Against The Machine, but flerting more with rap rock.Listening to Biohazard,Limp Bizkit and Stuck Mojo, they have some groove like the groove from groove metal, but without syncopation or focus at guitar riffs (Plus the rap). But listening Clawfinger, there is some differences, but still the rap.Is rap metal similar to groove sonority or are there some different kinds of rap metal?

I thought to start some Rap/Funk Metal Thread, but i don't think people would appreciate this kind of alternative metal.

    Bewitcher

    Black Viper

I forgot to mention Kat and Raven.Unfortunetaly Raven dropped speed at half of their discography.

I noticed that there are more new speed metal bands than bands like Exciter,Raven,Motorhead and Anvil.

No point in calling the police in Australia.  They don't show up and are generally incompetent.

I have called them several times for serious issues including domestic dispute that was turning violent (as well as threats of murder)  as well as burglaries or extreme vandalism.  They don't show up and in one case where they did the guy didn't give two fucks and literally made a mess of the crime scene he was dusting for prints.

Last time I called them (26 July 2023), they ended up calling me half a dozen times to clarify details, confirm city I was in (radio room is centralised and in another city and the operator didn't write down details I told them), confirm street, tell me to go to station (they sent me away) and then called me up to ask me about some other issue not related to me (someone's stolen car in another city).  They couldn't get the city right, the street right, the location right.

After half an hour they then told me to go to the crime scene which I did and the cop just drove past and never stopped.

Now this was in broad daylight and the crime happened on our city's main CBD street only 2 blocks from main police station.

My wife works in criminal justice system and she has even less nice things to say about them - suffice to say some of them don't believe domestic violence is an actual crime.

Cops here are just useless and corrupt. Basically cops are just bad guys with badges.    It's why I feel no pity when they get killed by criminals.

WTH?!I always thought Australia was first tier.Especially at policial/security terms. The only time that i had an experience with cops was when a guy invaded my home.Cops arrested him.

Yeah, me Relentless and Thatguy are aussies.

    Aussie rules team.

I didn't call the cops. Partly because my driveway is nearly a kilometre in length and even before I had security cameras on the front gate I'd have see the idiot coming. Also because I knew what car he owned (we all owned a specific brand 4wd, that was what the forum was for), if I saw him coming the cops would have beaten him down the driveway. But mostly I didn't worry because I was 90% sure the guy was just a stupid fucking hot head, all mouth and no action.

    Understood.

Don't know what music the numpty listened too but I got threatened by a football fan on a 4wd forum. Stupid fucker barracked for one of the most disliked clubs in the Australia Football League (AFL). There's been running jokes for 80 years about Magpie fans being toothless deadbeats. This stupid fuck was mouthing off about how great his team was and because I love to stir up shit and be annoying I gave the guy shit right back. He got all narky and started threatening me, started as harmless internet tough guy talk, then quickly moved to threatening to come to my house and kill me and my family. He posted my address on line and told me he'd be waiting for me when I least expected it. It was quite funny, some people loose their shit over the dumbest things. Don't know if the guy ever got the help he needed.

Are you from Australia?I did a song honoring an aussie actress (No metal related).

But didn't you call the police? When you say football you mean the american football or soccer? Here at Brazil people are crazy about soccer too.

  8. You guys already had some obviously awful experience with some reactonary headbanger?

I am asking because i never had one,but i Always saw people talking about these kind of experiences, especially where i live.It used to exists a brazilian headbanger YouTube channel called Canal Barbônico Always with News about the genre. But someday someone threatened his Life and made some fake accounts to pretend being him doing shits. He obviously got upset and ended the channel. It was goddamn creppy.I mean,I never had some kind of experience until now.I Just only listen heavy metal because i like.I am not a expert fan.And see people that only like the genre have your Life being threatened it's creppy.

But you already had some experience or know about one?9

  9. Heavy metal stopped to produce new genres? It means the HM reached your peak?

For me,I don't see new stuff at 2020s,except by djent, but it was invented before that. But i saw some people fighting because of this genre, especially youtubers trolling it.

Is it bad to you?For me,no.But i would like to take the 2020s and say:"Hey,this new genre it was like the Nu at End 90s and 2000s,grunge at 90s,Thrash and Glam at 80s,HM and Hard Rock at 70s and Acid rock and psychedelic at 60s".

But i am very satisfied with the new coming bands from this century, like Mastodon and Sabaton (Maybe they are from 99.I don't remember).I mean,I don't think rock/metal is dead like some people says. But what your thoughts?

  10. Hi guys from 2023.I listened Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage discographies. But i realized that early metalcore was so different from the melodic one from KSE.Looks like a mix of Pantera with hardcore punk.I am listening to Hatebreed (My favorite),Earth Crisis,Ringworm,Starkweather,Coalesce, first Botch album, first Merauder album and Integrity.Anyone tips?I wanted this early metalcore vibe.
