Greetings. My name is Tom. I'm 34 years old from Michigan, U.S. I'm a biochemist and novelist (mostly as a hobby at this point).

As my thread title says, I'm new to the metal scene. As in, since August of last year (2018) or so. Before that I was a hip-hop head. I still enjoy hip-hop, but I'm still riding the wave of my recent introduction to the metal genre. I'm hoping to find new bands, and a deeper appreciation for the genre here.
