I'm not deeply into Inter Arma's recordings, but they were excellent live. The vocalist has a ton of charisma and the drummer is a powerhouse. I keep meaning to listen to them more.

Their first two records were pretty good, but they really came into their own with Paradise Gallows. That album is just sonically enormous. From an audio engineering standpoint, it's a marvel they're able to have that much reverb and retain so much power and clarity. The first time I heard "Primordial Wound," I felt like I got stomped on the chest by an elephant. I hadn't felt like that after hearing a record since I was a teenager. In other words, highly recommend it!

Hey neat, I enjoy some music from all of the bands you mentioned. "When Forever Comes Crashing" and "Times Of Grace" are two of my favorite albums, although I haven't put either of them on in a minute. Welcome to the forum.

Whenever comes crashing... is bonkers. Love Converge's old stuff. It's much more dissonant and technical. "You Fail Me" is probably my favorite, though (which is probably because it was the first record of theirs I ever bought). But second side of that record, staring with "In Her Shadow," is just flawless. I'd consider it the posthardcore equivalent to side two of Abbey Road.

Times of Grace is incredible. One of the best intros to any album I've ever heard.

What did you think of "The Dusk in Us"?

Thanks! What bands do you have in mind?

Hilarious username, by the way. As a dad, I love myself a good pun.

  3. Hey, guys! My name is Sean and I'm a musician from the Indianapolis-area. I love most types of metal and extreme music. Everything from Gorguts to Burzum to Vektor to Inter Arma. I especially love Converge and Neurosis. I'm looking forward to some awesome discussion and discovering some incredible bands.

  4. Hi folks!

I released an album this week under the moniker "Eulogy" called "Into the Heart of Light." It loosely chronicles my recovery from a brain hemorrhage I suffered after falling  while hiking in West Virginia. I'm based in the Indianapolis area, and my primary influences include King Crimson, Neurosis, and Converge. I'd love for you guys to take a listen and share your thoughts. I've included links to the music, as well as my social media accounts. Cheers! --Sean
