Re: Tattoos If I'm ever gonna get a tat I want it to be something meaningful, for example I used to do Tae Kwon Do and wanted to get the Korean symbol for warrior tattooed over my heart when I became a black belt, but since going to uni I just haven't had the time to train anymore

Re: Tattoos Got loads, it all started when I went to India and had a Henna tattoo. I loved it so had it done in ink and then another then another. I go to a place in the UK called New Addictions and it is  Once you've had one you'll want another. I often go to sleep now while the work is being done. Mine are all designs by myself or Bill my tattoo artist, nothing from books etc. Think long and hard before you have one coz they last a lifetime. I was over 40 before I had my first.

Re: Tattoos I just thought I would share how wonderful our country has become with all of you today. I, like most Americans, am looking for work. I was laid off on January 2nd, 2009, and have found little, if any work since then. I was on unemployment until it ran out (13 months). Any jobs I have had since being laid off have all been temp jobs. We all know how long those last. I do my usual diligence, and fill out 10 applications a day (on average). The newest job prospect was that of Valvoline Instant Oil Change. You know, those places where you pull in and have someone change your oil, refill your fluids, etc? Not a glamorous job, but a job I would enjoy either way. I, for whatever reason, enjoy nasty, dirty, difficult jobs. The hiring process for these places consists of an online application, of course. Paper applications do not exist anymore it seems. I did the online app, where there is also a pre employment questionnaire. I was contacted by a store representative and was asked if I could come in for an interview. I came in for a interview, and had a EXCELLENT interview. The store manager told me he would love to hire me, and after talking to his boss, that I would hopefully begin work with them within the next week. He then asked me about my tattoos and if I had a problem covering them up. I absolutely have ZERO problem doing this, sure it may be hot in the summer, but a job is a job. Covering up my tattoos on my hands would seem the least I could do to procure employment.

Re: Tattoos I have all my tattoos where I can cover them if I need to. They do send a message to others whether you care or not, it's a fact, they do scare some people even though they don't know you or anything about you. Be careful what you have and where you have it. Just got back from another 2 hour session, that's now over 30 hours of work for something I said would be only be the 1. I covering them gets you the jobs, good for you dude, you know you still have them.

Re: Tattoos

According to the OECD' date=' we have an 8% unemployment rate. And there are only eight countries with a [i']majority of people unemployed.
Supposedly, that figure does not account for under employment, nor those whose unemployment benefits have already run out (no longer collecting = no longer tracked). It also doesn't even get into concepts like wage slavery and over employment, as many Americans work 50+ hours per week to pay their bills, whereas the standard work week almost everywhere else in the developed world is 30-40 hours. I don't have any yet, but next Saturday i'm getting my first one, which is the ORCumentary logo. I'm at work and don't have access to the picture without the text, so I had to take it from google. Getting this bad boy on my left calf. images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTdZBrL8shvXNV0DNt2x1NAFKJCsuG4HLtnp3ZSvts6zgbwgE-GAQ Also planning on getting a tattoo on my right arm of my favorite band, Elvenking, and something Lord of the Rings related. My ideas for those two aren't concrete yet and I want to see how tat #1 goes before I plan on getting any more.

Tattoos They hurt, be ready for it. I just love the pain though. I've had some more work so now I have 2, once I get some more done on the new one it will be back to 1 large tatt. The latest addition is built around the Mercyful Release logo and Fields if the Nephilim. I'll post a pic once I can get back onto my laptop.

No tattoos. It's not something I really considered seriously, mainly because I wouldn't know what I wanted. I am incredibly indecisive. I would never be able to set myself on something and still like it in a week or so. Hell, most nights I can't decide if I want chips or waffles. That said, I would like one. Nothing massive and out there but maybe something upper arm or forearm if I did ever go through with it. On a side note, my girlfriend has a Scorpion tattooed on her ass. Nice. And the Tattoo...

    • Whichever tier of thrash metal you consigned Sacred Reich back in the 80's/90's they still had their moments.  "Ignorance" & "Surf Nicaragura" did a great job of establishing the band, whereas "The American Way" just got a little to comfortable and accessible (the title track grates nowadays) for my ears.  A couple more records better left forgotten about and then nothing for twenty three years.  2019 alone has now seen three releases from Phil Rind and co.  A live EP, a split EP with Iron Reagan and now a full length.

Notable addition to the ranks for the current throng of releases is former Machine Head sticksman, Dave McClean.  Love or hate Machine Head, McClean is a more than capable drummer and his presence here is felt from the off with the opening and title track kicking things off with some real gusto.  'Divide & Conquer' and 'Salvation' muddle along nicely, never quite reaching any quality that would make my balls tingle but comfortable enough.  The looming build to 'Manifest Reality' delivers a real punch when the song starts proper.  Frenzied riffs and drums with shots of lead work to hold the interest.

There's a problem already though (I know, I am such a fucking mood hoover).  I don't like Phil's vocals.  I never had if I am being honest.  The aggression to them seems a little forced even when they are at their best on tracks like 'Manifest Reality'.  When he tries to sing it just feels weak though ('Salvation') and tracks lose real punch.  Give him a riffy number such as 'Killing Machine' and he is fine with the Reich engine (probably a poor choice of phrase) up in sixth gear.  For every thrashy riff there's a fair share of rock edged, local bar act rhythm aplenty too.

Let's not poo-poo proceedings though, because overall I actually enjoy "Awakening".  It is stacked full of catchy riffs that are sticky on the old ears.  Whilst not as raw as perhaps the - brilliant - artwork suggests with its black and white, tattoo flash sheet style design it is enjoyable enough.  Yes, 'Death Valley' & 'Something to Believe' have no place here, saved only by Arnett and Radziwill's lead work but 'Revolution' is a fucking 80's thrash heyday throwback to the extent that if you turn the TV on during it you might catch a new episode of Cheers!

    • Full length number 19 from overkill certainly makes a splash in the energy stakes, I mean there's some modern thrash bands that are a good two decades younger than Overkill who can only hope to achieve the levels of spunk that New Jersey's finest produce here.  That in itself is an achievement, for a band of Overkill's stature and reputation to be able to still sound relevant four decades into their career is no mean feat.  Even in the albums weaker moments it never gets redundant and the energy levels remain high.  There's a real sense of a band in a state of some renewed vigour, helped in no small part by the addition of Jason Bittner on drums.  The former Flotsam & Jetsam skinsman is nothing short of superb throughout "The Wings of War" and seems to have squeezed a little extra out of the rest of his peers.

The album kicks of with a great build to opening track "Last Man Standing" and for the first 4 tracks of the album the Overkill crew stomp, bash and groove their way to a solid level of consistency.  The lead work is of particular note and Blitz sounds as sneery and scathing as ever.  The album is well produced and mixed too with all parts of the thrash machine audible as the five piece hammer away at your skull with the usual blend of chugging riffs and infectious anthems.

There are weak moments as mentioned but they are more a victim of how good the strong tracks are.  In it's own right "Distortion" is a solid enough - if not slightly varied a journey from the last offering - but it just doesn't stand up well against a "Bat Shit Crazy" or a "Head of a Pin".  As the album draws to a close you get the increasing impression that the last few tracks are rescued really by some great solos and stomping skin work which is a shame because trimming of a couple of tracks may have made this less obvious.
