You make chocolate out of dolphins? The greenies would never let us get away with that :P

It's all in French so could be 😁 no wonder it tastes bit different.

In all honesty it's different spelling but I do think there logo should be a dolphin. Maybe flipper.

A flipper dolphin 🐬 chocolate bar would certainly put the company on the map.

They'd get alot unwanted attention from animal rights groups of course and the WWF would not be happy.

I had some Cracker Barrel Mac n Cheese and black beans & rice for dinner tonight. I actually don't eat a whole lot of meat and I work in fast food, so I don't eat a lot of fast food either. I do drink a lot of coffee though, I usually drink an iced coffee in the morning and then one when I go on break at work.

Later tonight before I settle in, I'm going to make some ramen with egg, cheese, and green onions. Then probably have some pecan praline Blue Bell ice cream.

They could make the ad a kid standing on a jetty like Bud(?) did in the tv show, and instead of dolphins arriving a whole swarm of chocolate bars come floating to the surface. Chocolate made from dolphin floating to the surface when a horn is blown sounds like some almighty tasty chocolate :)

Hi killa k. Are Anzac biscuits still eaten much in Australia. Im assuming your Australian.

My mum made a batch up other day which is unusual as I'm English. There good imo.😋

Anzac biscuits are eaten and they are commercially available all year in packets. There is an 'official' traditional recipe and therefore one brand gets to puts an Aussie flag on theirs and claim they are just like the Anzac's ate, but like everything commercially made they aren't.

Your mum probably made the traditional recipe if they were nice :)  Home made is the way to go and they are extremely easy to make, and home made comes with the bonus of being able to make them bigger!!

I've had homemade Anzac bikkies in NZ and they tasted nice enough. They're basically what Yanks would call oatmeal cookies with shredded coconut in them. But they were a little hard and chewy for my liking, guessing they must have had too much molasses (treacle or golden syrup) in them or something. Like Lamingtons and Pavlova they were ok and I'm not sorry I've tried them but I wouldnt go out of my way to have any of that stuff again.

They were made to be soft and chewy so they stayed that way for the months they had to spend at sea to get to the soldiers. If they were hard they were not made to the traditional recipe. Pretty much everything the soldiers had in their rations at the time were hard and dry, Anzac's were one of the few things that arrived with a soft texture. Of course some people today actually claim that didn't happen and that any food sent to the troops never actually made it off shore but there was plenty of Anzac's who said different before they died and history was able to be re-written by the living.

After nearly 18 months of not eating out I actually found myself missing it for the first time this week. We aren't really sit down at a restaurant types, preferring take away and home sitting in front of the TV. Take away's have been open here during our 5 million days of lockdown but I just haven't had the urge to go and stand in line with people to get food until this week. Even then I couldn't really be bothered actually making the effort.

I'm with you on that one. I personally do not like going to restaurants because then I have to get fully dressed in not terribly comfortable clothes (usually around the house I just wear basketball shorts and an old cut-off metal tee, often with holes and shit in it). I think the last place I actually got food from was Waffle House and I brought it home so I could eat it and listen to music at the same time.

I'm just not an overly social person so having to spend time in a room with people annoys me, even if those people aren't talking to me and don't care I'm there. Dress codes don't really bother me because the restaurants we are likely to go to don't really have a dress code, as long as I don't wear the workboots covered in cow shit the restaurants don't really care if I turn up in shorts.

Well I mean, none of the restaurants I go to have a dress code either because I usually only go to places like Waffle House, I just don't want to look like a boogie when I'm going out. I keep my boogieness at home.

But the other reason I don't like going out, is because there really isn't anywhere good to go around here. It's all places like Applebee's, Chilis (the place where business is done), Dennys, etc. We used to have a TGIFridays & a Sonny's Barbecue but both of those places have closed down since then. It's a lot of chains and chains are never really that great for the amount of money that you're paying to go to one.

I wear shorts and hi-vis pretty much every day of the year, but I do like to keep a low profile when I go out so I leave the hi-vis at home, some of the time. I've never cared what I look like, or what others think, as long as my arse isn't hanging out of my pants they are good enough to wear out. I don't go to a restaurant that has a dress code and demand they let me in wearing shorts, I just don't go to such restaurants. If I was to go into town tonight for a sit down meal I could choose anything from Chinese, to Italian, to Malaysian, to Vietnamese, to Greek, to a traditional pub meal and none of them would question me turning up in shorts (expect for the fact that it's pissing down rain and blowing a gale right now). I simply wouldn't go to anywhere else that requires any more of a dress code no matter how good or bad they might be.

Good to know. Thanks killakukumba for the info. The ones I had we're traditional recipe I'm assuming with enough golden syrup in them so you run on water like sonic the hedgehog. (In my mind sonic can do this)😁 sadly ones I had was small so maybe not fully traditional no 24 inch ones😂 although that might be death by anzac.  They were very good😋

Cool gg you had the Anzacs too. Maybe they did not have enough golden syrup in them. Ones I had we're soft and tasted very very sweet in over the top way but I liked this for couple of biscuits👍

Also did you try Afghan biscuits in NZ. I liked those when I last visited.

Best fish & chips I've ever had was Baramundi from some little hole in the wall in New Plymouth, NZ. Ketchup is ok for the fries/chips but I'd never let it touch my fish. Either tartar sauce or nothing. Only downside to that meal was the seagulls were relentless in their pursuit of our spare table scraps. Sitting at the picnic table when we were done eating I was tossing our leftover chips up into the air for them and they were not hitting the ground.

I'm suddenly in the mood for an Irish spice bag. Must Google a recipe....

My wife suggested a Greek roast (Fish and chips) on Friday night, but despite us already being out of lockdown the world's most locked down city got released on Friday morning and the entire state was a nightmare. We'd effectively been out of lockdown for a few weeks in the country but for some reason even the people here acted like it was Freedom Friday and they all went to the shops and for take away food. Queues, were out the door at some restaurants and food places.

    • Whichever tier of thrash metal you consigned Sacred Reich back in the 80's/90's they still had their moments.  "Ignorance" & "Surf Nicaragura" did a great job of establishing the band, whereas "The American Way" just got a little to comfortable and accessible (the title track grates nowadays) for my ears.  A couple more records better left forgotten about and then nothing for twenty three years.  2019 alone has now seen three releases from Phil Rind and co.  A live EP, a split EP with Iron Reagan and now a full length.

Notable addition to the ranks for the current throng of releases is former Machine Head sticksman, Dave McClean.  Love or hate Machine Head, McClean is a more than capable drummer and his presence here is felt from the off with the opening and title track kicking things off with some real gusto.  'Divide & Conquer' and 'Salvation' muddle along nicely, never quite reaching any quality that would make my balls tingle but comfortable enough.  The looming build to 'Manifest Reality' delivers a real punch when the song starts proper.  Frenzied riffs and drums with shots of lead work to hold the interest.

There's a problem already though (I know, I am such a fucking mood hoover).  I don't like Phil's vocals.  I never had if I am being honest.  The aggression to them seems a little forced even when they are at their best on tracks like 'Manifest Reality'.  When he tries to sing it just feels weak though ('Salvation') and tracks lose real punch.  Give him a riffy number such as 'Killing Machine' and he is fine with the Reich engine (probably a poor choice of phrase) up in sixth gear.  For every thrashy riff there's a fair share of rock edged, local bar act rhythm aplenty too.

Let's not poo-poo proceedings though, because overall I actually enjoy "Awakening".  It is stacked full of catchy riffs that are sticky on the old ears.  Whilst not as raw as perhaps the - brilliant - artwork suggests with its black and white, tattoo flash sheet style design it is enjoyable enough.  Yes, 'Death Valley' & 'Something to Believe' have no place here, saved only by Arnett and Radziwill's lead work but 'Revolution' is a fucking 80's thrash heyday throwback to the extent that if you turn the TV on during it you might catch a new episode of Cheers!

    • Full length number 19 from overkill certainly makes a splash in the energy stakes, I mean there's some modern thrash bands that are a good two decades younger than Overkill who can only hope to achieve the levels of spunk that New Jersey's finest produce here.  That in itself is an achievement, for a band of Overkill's stature and reputation to be able to still sound relevant four decades into their career is no mean feat.  Even in the albums weaker moments it never gets redundant and the energy levels remain high.  There's a real sense of a band in a state of some renewed vigour, helped in no small part by the addition of Jason Bittner on drums.  The former Flotsam & Jetsam skinsman is nothing short of superb throughout "The Wings of War" and seems to have squeezed a little extra out of the rest of his peers.

The album kicks of with a great build to opening track "Last Man Standing" and for the first 4 tracks of the album the Overkill crew stomp, bash and groove their way to a solid level of consistency.  The lead work is of particular note and Blitz sounds as sneery and scathing as ever.  The album is well produced and mixed too with all parts of the thrash machine audible as the five piece hammer away at your skull with the usual blend of chugging riffs and infectious anthems.

There are weak moments as mentioned but they are more a victim of how good the strong tracks are.  In it's own right "Distortion" is a solid enough - if not slightly varied a journey from the last offering - but it just doesn't stand up well against a "Bat Shit Crazy" or a "Head of a Pin".  As the album draws to a close you get the increasing impression that the last few tracks are rescued really by some great solos and stomping skin work which is a shame because trimming of a couple of tracks may have made this less obvious.
