OLD RESEARCH - COMPLETED - NO LONGER IN NEED OF GLOBAL PARTICPANTS Hi, my name is Ria and I'm in my final year of my Sociology degree at the University of Leeds, UK. I’ve been a loyal fan of metal music my whole life and like to spend my time exploring the Northern metal scene. I regularly go to metal festivals in the UK such as Download and Damnation in Leeds. This year I had the opportunity to interview at Damnation festival in Leeds which was a lot of fun. I also have my own metal radio show on Leeds Student Radio where I showcase my love of alternative music and its history! For my degree, I have chosen to partake in a metal music studies dissertation. You could say I'm a bit too in love with metal! I am here to advertise my research in the hope of finding participants. My research is concerned with the role of gender and ethnicity on a woman's experience of the metal community/subculture. I'm looking for participants which I can interview over Skype or in person if you're local to Leeds. So please, if you’re interested in taking part, drop me a message (my email is at the bottom of this message) and we can talk about it further! I'm happy to answer any questions or have a general chat about metal studies! Best, Ria [email protected]

Hi guys! Hey admin - if this post isn't allowed, i sincerely apologise! I am DJ KC, I present a radio show called "Bedlam" on SMART RADIO every Tuesday evening 7-10PM (GMT) which is appx 2pm (+ or - a few hours depending which time zone you are in) USA time Smart Radio is a NEW radio show based in Great Yarmouth Norfolk, and my show specializes in Heavy Metal, Thrash, hardcore etc. (There is already another guy who does the "classic rock" section on a friday) I am here for the lifelong love of Metal (I dont really do "genres" per say, it causes too many arguments!) but, I try to stay "pigeonhole free" and I do try my best to play requests. If we cant get around to playing that request that night, we will definitely make the effort to play it next week! You can tune in on the "Tuneinn" app on your digital device - search for Smart Radio GY Go to the homepage (link already previously supplied) or Get the SMART RADIO app on Android! We are currently making the app for IOS, but watch this space! check out BEDLAM check out SMART RADIO

We are a UK based Progressive Metal band from the West Midlands. I personally have been producing and writing the material for the last year but we are getting ready to approach labels and be gig ready. Hunting Humans Facebook Link Please find a sound cloud link on our home page to a demo we wrote purely for testing engineering, material will be soon available once the tracks are recorded. We'd love to hear your feedback! We will greatly appreciate any support we can get while getting this band up and running. All we want to do is get out on the road and give our best at every show.

Looking for Metalcore band near Sheffield/Rotherham area Alright, I'm 17, living in Rotherham. Looking for a metalcore ban to join, or maybe form with a few people. I play Guitar (lead or rhythm), along with being able to grown, scream etc to what i think is a decent standard/sound. I'd be willing to travel so long as its not way too far. So yeah, I'm looking to join a band as either, Lead/Rhythm guitarist whilst also doing some backup vocals, or lea vocalist ('Screaming'), not clean vocals. Cheers, Joe Twynham. Hello all, I work for a production company that's making a documentary for BBC Four which tells the history of British music from 1956 to present - from skiffle to punk, hip hop and, of course, heavy metal! We're currently crowdsourcing memories and memorabilia - ticket stubs, wrist bands, diary entries, photos, video and audio recordings - everything and anything that tells a story of your experience as a fan of heavy metal. If you think you have anything then please go to this website: www.phop.co.uk and upload a picture/ embed the recording. Everything uploaded will become part of an incredible online archive that will culminate in a TV series to air in 2016, featuring the best of what's been uploaded to the site. I look forward to seeing your memories on the site soon...
