  1. So I like Metallica, especially their first three albums (Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets). Now don't think I don't like And Justice for All. It's a great album in terms of songwriting, but in terms of tone, mixing, and overall sound, It's one of my least favorites. So back to the main subject of the post: I feel like since the bus accident Metallica started to gradually deteriorate, and although I love Jason Newsted and think he didn't get the appreciation he deserved, and Robert is obviously a great bassist, Cliff had something more than that. He was a musical genius (I personally think Orion is a masterpiece and I have written the opening bassline of the second part of it on my right shoe), and in my opinion, he just lifted them to amazing heights. He also wrote some of their greatest hits, and he was very confident about his love for music and his unique sense of fashion. But after all, the black album was the one that brought Metallica to the mainstream, so maybe it has been Jason... But still, I think that without Cliff they hadn't have been that successful in the first place. What do you think?

  5. Metallica's thrash-tastic "Fight fire with Fire" played at roughly the speed performed in 1986. Tempo was inconsistent in the performance, but the song is a good 20-40bpm faster. https://youtu.be/1sF_-ELgc2E
  6. We are Feel No Pain, a thrash metal band from Spain, and we have just released a new E.P. called Into The Chaos, just an intro and 3 songs, but enough to blow you away! We are heavily influenced by epic thrash like old Metallica/Sepultura/Slayer, but with plenty of guitar harmonies á la Iron Maiden/In Flames, and with some death metal hints in the vocals and the drums, there´s no limits! Here is the amazing cover by french artist Remy Cooper Here is a crazy lyric video we made, for the song Sky Burial And here the playlist of the E.P. in streaming in Youtube Hope you enjoy it, follow us on Facebook if you wanna stay updated! 9. Hi everyone, As a thrash metal project from Milan, Skull Kollektor is looking for advice by fellow fans of the genre. This is the very first song we have come up with since forming late in novembre 2016. The lyrics tell the tale of someone who brings the dead back to life, then abuses them, then kills them again in an eternal (and infernal) loop. It's like three Slayer tunes put together: "Post-mortem", "Necrophiliac" and "Kill Again"! Big influences (lyrically) were certainly Alice Cooper, Mercyful Fate and Italy's very own Death SS. We are very dedicated fans of traditional thrash metal and would truly appreciate some feedback on this song. Negative feedback is very welcome too, because if we are doing terribly wrong, we might just stop right away!
  10. Hi folks! Amazingly, i've gotten a unique chance to live out my all-time biggest dream ever since i was a little kid - warming up for none other than the mighty 'Tallica with my band DEFECTO! This would probably be the biggest experience in my life. However, in order to win, we need to get as many votes as possible in an online competition. Therefore, Ikindly ask that you help me getting this dream to come true - it only takes a quick vote on "DEFECTO" in the following link: https://metallica.com/blog/news/437382/you-pick-the-opening-acts-in-copenhagen I know this is a lot to ask for, but there's just no way to tell you how much it would mean to me! So I'm sorry for the plug, but i hope you can appreciate how big an opportunity this is for us. If you want to listen to us before you vote, you can find a couple of videos here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sw_Wk4SI88 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T51BKR365vc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waoV1Ek6KJ4 As well as a cover of Enter Sandman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XywUU8-Iru0 Thank you so SO much! <3 <3

  13. Need some new metal songs to listen to? Junkyard Prophet is set to release their album “Stand Your Ground” this July. Junkyard Prophet, a heavy metal band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, focus has always been on youth and their future, so much so that they turned down a major record deal out of fear it would water down their message. They’ve performed many shows and shared the stage with bands like Pantera, Regime and Savage. They’ve sold over 40,000 CD’s in the Midwest alone and don’t show any signs of slowing down. Their aim is to give the people music with a message. Keep up with Junkyard Prophet on Facebook here: http://bit.ly/JP-Facebook, Twitter here: http://bit.ly/JP-Twitter, and their official website here: www.JunkyardProphet.net.
