  4. Hello, my name is Cerberus, I’m a one man band and I made two Heavy Metal EPs I call the Midnight Fade tapes that will wreck the whole scene! Listen for yourself! I wrote, played, and sang everything, and had a guitarist named Shwizz play the solos above all my playing in sections. 1st EP- https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9dkIayulMzxJSTK9NsjzytcQnqjqP4W- 2nd EP - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9dkIayulMzz5oPwSYAoTMr1143GV1p15 White Rabbit cover - https://youtu.be/ee6kYEvfPmU
  5. Release Date: October 6, 2017 Intro: This is the band's 8th studio release. Some questions have been raised about the replacement of previous lead guitarist Ryan Knight by Brandon Ellis. Additionally, some felt their sound was getting a little too far from there roots, becoming too slow and "easy" for it's own good. The band considers this album a spiritual successor to "Nocturnal", one of their most highly praised works, and a fan favourite. They solidify the link by using the same artist for the cover, and many of the songs seem like they pick up where Nocturnal left off. Does this album stand up? Highlights: Track 1: Widowmakrer. This track opens with an awesome riff and a great scream from Trevor to really set the tone of this short but brutal album. A good riff carries through the verse and the lyrics are an interesting change from the classical fantasy storylines usually heard on death metal albums. Definitely a good strat Track 3: Matriarch. This song is a riff bonanza. From start to finish this one beats the living shit out of you. Trevor's screams match the rhythm really well, and the chorus is particularly catchy. This song also has some of the more brutal lyrics on the album, which are awesome. In my opinion this is where you really start to see Ellis shine. In addition to playing leads, he wrote 4 of the songs on this album and proved he can keep up with the guys who've been in the band for almost 20 years. Track 5: Jars. This is probably the heaviest and least melodic song on the album. It's still a brutal assault with riffs changing all the time, making good use of blast beats on the drums and heavy rhythm guitars over wailing leads. Another song with excellent lyrical content, I really think this entire album has some of the more interesting lyrics of the last few records. Track 7: Catacomb Hectacomb. This song is probably the most melodic on the album, and flows really well. The trem picking riffs throughout keep the song moving, and the constant drums make the song feel frantic. They slow things down during the bridges to give a nice duality to the song. Around the 1:30 mark there is an epic breakdown, followed by a blistering solo. Honestly Brandon Ellis makes a case for being their best guitarist, period. Track 9: The Lonely Deceased. Most reminiscent of previous album, this tune has some of the darker, more depressing overtones on the album that match the title quite well. It's a somber close to the album filled with some great, pounding riffs. A little slower, but as the end track it suits well and closes the album nicely. Final Thoughts: This is probably my favourite TBDM album to date. It definitely picks up on the speed and intensity that some feel the last two albums may have been lacking. Ellis brings creative talent as well as technical ability that makes this a great listen. For fans who had written them off this would be an excellent time to give them another shot, and for new/potential fans I would highly recommend checking this out if you want a sense of what these guys are all about. Rating: 4.5/5.
  6. Hi folks! The name's Gerhardt, Dutch, 28, and I live in Spain. I'm currently writing an album, but need experienced musicians willing to dedicate themselves to this project. Stylistically, it's somewhere between 90's Metallica's Load and Reload, and The Haunted's last three records with Dolving. The way I compose tends to create heavy rock songs with an often classic (80's and 90's) melodic thrash and grunge basis, but with a (hopefully) haunting, psychedelic ambience. Aside from this project, some of my favourite bands and sources of inspiration are: Mastodon, Opeth, Gojira, The Haunted, Metallica, Megadeth, plus any good movie soundtrack that strikes a nerve. (Preferably John Williams, James Newton Howard, and Phillip Glass.) I studied music for three years in the U.K., and I'm a guitarist, singer, and composer. Therefor, I need the rest of a solid, experienced band! I'm willing to travel anywhere really, (Sweden, USA, UK, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Germany. Anyway, hit me up for any info! Don't be a fool, this could be cool! Let's make some good music!

  8. Videoclip Hello there fellow metalmaniacs!!! We would like to self-promote our metalband Primitive. We had a couple up and downs the past 3 years (band members leaving, gaining new members, reconfiguring bandmember mindsets ) but with a mission to blast again, and to blast even harder, we double dare you to listen to the sound this band makes for you! We hope you all will enjoy it. Grab that coffee! A good and heavy-morning to all of you! Spotify Primitive - Cerberus (Single) Primitive - Raw Traces(Raw Demo) Primitive Bio From the ditches of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, at the ports of the feet of Hell(evoetsluis) Primitive is one of the last remnants from a decade of heavy metal bands thrashing the local area. After the closing down of all the venues they retreated in the bunkers of Hellevoetsluis working on new incantations bringing homage to all the silenced noises before them. Howls with high sustain and blood trembling speed metal rhythms will blast you away with the earth shattering grooves and energetic performance of this band. Starting out in 2007 they allready gave their crowds a brutal blast of metal. After seven years of gigging they finaly recorded their first single Nightmare. While aiming for a fulllength album their drummer decided to leave the band. But after a short period of time they gained a new drummer who blasted his way to Cerberus and Raw Traces just to the taste the band needed so much. Quotes 'Now working on their new album and revisiting the old, soon your flesh will be moved.' 'We play the stuff we like to play, we are heavy and melodical in one. Guess that is the taste Primitive brings to the gigs we play.' ‘Primitive will leave you feelin' punched in the face by metal!’ Social Media: Primitive on Bandcamp Primitive on Twitter Primitive on Instagram Primitive on Facebook

  18. Hey there! First of all, I'd like to say hi because it's my first post here! Let me introduce myself. My name's Lenny and I've started my solo project called Lengbleu in 2012. In the past few years, I only posted my originals and covers on soundcloud. In 2016, I decided to work on a full album and it's finally out now! I've spent most of my weekends of 2016 working on this one... It might not be to everyone's taste but this album was a great therapy for me. I've done everything on my own. Except for the guests appearances I would classify it as Instrumental Progressive Metal.. But It also has some Post-Rock influences... I'm quite bad at putting my music into a category! The album was released on the 28th of Feb. Check it out over there I hope you will like it Feel free to be honest and share what you think of it here! Lenny
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPe-FdA4i6c please name of this sound? i found but i dont know the name...
  20. Hey all, so I'm relatively new to the whole guitar mixing areas. I'm trying to figure out how to get a certain tone/sound. Here's a quick example of the sound I'm trying to replicate. I'm assuming it's just a simple power chord with some other post wizardry applied to it. I'm not just talking about the distortion, moreso the more "melodic and full" sound it has. I have a pretty good DAW (Reason 9), so I can fine tune and fiddle with the sound there as much as I need, I just don't know exactly how to go about it. Cheers
