Kristiko given a Damn from Thatguy in What Are You Listening To?
Oh God, I can only imagine listening to that album on acid, it's dark and tripped out enough like this. And "Closer" is the most accessible track, so probably put you in some sort of mantra with that beat. Great story.
P.S. "Owner of the Lonely Hearts" will always be a classic, although it's considered like a pop era of Yes, I still like it.

Funny story about that album. Me and some friends dropped a shitload of acid with some chicks back in the 90's. This album had just come out. The girls loved it. One song, closer I think, got stuck on repeat for like 6-7 hours. Nobody could figure out how to switch the tracks. I can never hear that song without thinking of that night. Good times.

Kristiko gave a Damn to Dead1 in What Are You Listening To?
Great album. Just found out that it and many other famous Roadrunner albums are no longer in print on physical media.
Amazing that Roadrunner (parent company Warner) would let such albums rot despite metal heads being one of the few groups who still buy physical media.

GG I hope Navy will be alright. I do miss him.

Well, I can't say I was the biggest fan of the band, but this album has an interesting combination of modern melodic death/progressive/thrash metal sound (I should say, more polished production from the older records) and almost like power metal singing, but not really, really specific thing. I kinda like that it's not the usual high-pitched power metal singing, but not going for some rough vocals, it makes the music more authentic. Since 2008, when I first heard it, "Born" and "Medicated Nation" were my favorites. The riffs, guitar work, and drumming are fantastic, I like the lower tuning. Over time I appreciate the record much more. I wouldn't listen to it every day, but I think this album deserves more credit.
