Dream Theater - Dark Eternal Night

BlutAusNerd - I can actually remember the music store and day I went out and bought the cassette of Forward to Termination on release date. So when I say I am completely jealous you got to see and meet Sacrifice, I truly mean that. They were literally, well, one of the first groups when I was a punk teen, to make me crave metal. I then obviously went on to Annihilator, Sacred Reich and all those early thrash era bands, metal is engrained in my soul. What a great night that must have been for you. To see Terror Strikes / Re-Animation played live in 2014 would be epic.

I just listened to Autarch by them, I took a fistful of metal to the face. Brilliant. Those were some seriously badass riffs. I'm going to see how much of their material I can find.

FatherAlabaster - Thanks for the welcome! Sounds like by the bands you described you are also a fan of technical, complex metal? I don't mind dating myself, I just consider myself...older? Considering I live on an island it's difficult for me to get to the mainland to support more awesome Canadian talent as much as I'd like, shows here are difficult to come by. Although P.T.H. has been known to play here.

BlutAusNerd - I love all metal in all it's glorious incantations. There are certainly many other Canadian metal bands worthy of note like Sacrifice, Anvil, Protest the Hero, Excitor, Voivod and so many others. I was harshly addicted to the Fortress album by Protest the Hero for a long time, bordering obsession, but I feel muuuch better now. I've had the joy of seeing many live shows like Metallica, Suicidal Tendencies, Alice in Chains (did I just date myself?), Ozzy, Alice Cooper, Motorhead, Rush, Rob Halford, Tenacious D just to name a few. So I love to talk metal, and empowering people with the positive message metal brings to the world employing creativity and respect.
