  1. As fat as heavy as low and slow as possbile
  2. I don´t want to Sound too dramatic but for me this is the end of an era, very sad Moment indeed
  3. Melvins - 'Stoner Witch' I have the feeling that I might became addicted to the Melvins
  4. Earth - Pentastar: In The Style Of Demons
  5. I like Santa Claus
  6. my 76 Trans Am when it will have a 455 with a 5 Speed Tremec
  7. Giuseppe Verdi´s Dies Irae is the oldest metal song I can think of
  8. it was just a bit too extreme for me, especially the singing, but then back in 1991 Rust In Peace made me reassess my views, the energy rush I got from that album I have never experience before. But back then I still considered Anthrax and Slayer a bit too extreme, but than again I have to give them another shot, especially considering that the older I get the more extreme music I need.
  9. I have to dig deeper into thrash, but so far the only band I like is Megadeth, rust in peace is the album that made me change my views on thrash metal
  10. Black Sabbath Pentagram Electric Wizard Stoner Kebab
  11. I went through a Budgie phace a couple of years ago. I was listening all of their albums from start to end and then repeat. I really like them and I don´t get why they are so underrated. If I have to come up with possible reasons here are what I believe to be the main two. - not successful in the - look at me I´m cool - department, Burke Shelley was looking more like a computer nerd rather than a front man of one of the heaviest Hard Rock band around. - bad marketing. Imagine a teeneger back in 1971 which has finally got a little pocket money that he wants to spend wisely, what does he do, he goes to the first record store and buys the heaviest and most sinister looking record he can possibly find. So he will enjoy the heavy music and the disgusted face of his mum which even gave him the money for that evil thing. So as he is in the store two albums are next to each others in the B letter, one has a scary witch in front of a old abandoned house surrounded by a creepy forest, and the title is Black Sabbath. The other record has a wierd guy with a bird mask flying on a horse on a blue sky, the title is Budgie. Guess, which one will our teeneger choose? I understand Budgie members liked the idea of a contrast between their heavy music and their innocent band name, but for sure this against sterotype attitude - even if truly rock - did not help them at all. Gosh I sound like a bad record producer.
  12. Flea is a great bass player , I agree to what was stated earlier on how cool is the baseline together with the guitar on Under the Bridge, not to mention Give it Away. But I have to go with Les, I love the Brown Album and and on Shake Hands With Beef bass and drums are exceptional Geezer is #1 ...
  13. Had to go with records, CD are cool and I always thought that only nostalgic elitists preferred records over CDs. Until one day about 15 years ago when I had the chance to listen to dark side on the moon on vinyl on a professional record player trough hi end headphones. I don't know whether the vinyl was a reissue or not, but was super thick and holy crap that thing produced the best soundwaves ever to pass through my eustachian tube. Further more might be a hipster fashion but right now here in Europe sales of records are increasing, and I remember a press article not long ago stating that when you buy a record essentially you buy time for yourself. You do enjoy the big size pictures while listening carefully and not in a harry to your favourite record.
  14. Talking again about Piero Scaruffi, is #1 rating on rock music is Captain Beefheart with Trout Mask Replica, can somebody elaborate on that? I don´t get it, Safe As Milk is great thought
  15. congratulation to you Relentlessoblivion. By the way Windows sucks!
  16. yeah, Bach is number one for me too, even though i must admit that I am really ignorant about classical music. To acquire some decent knowledge on classical music, hard rock and metal with all the subgenres all together will be impossible in a lifetime, unless you are Piero Scaruffi, the guy has rated absolutely everything. I don´t agree with his ratings, but I totally agree with his hostility towards the Beatles, according the him one of the most overrated bands. Definitely worthy to check out is web page.
  17. we should also not forget that classic music had and influence on rock and metal, Jon Lord and Yngwie Malmsteen are the first names that come to my mind. And for those of you that like Deep Purple go immediately and get the Concerto per Gruppo e orchestra recorded at Royal Albert Hall in 1969, maybe a bit difficult to digest at first if you are not into classic music, but certainly and underrated masterpiece and the first recording with Ian Gillian
  18. I hope I dont get insulted too much posting such a topic just few day after subscribing to this Metal forum, but anyway Id like to ear your opinions Right now I am really obsessed by italian baroque composers and lately at work I cant stop listening to this guys https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t8aLJcL7J4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLvbYKZVMyY and this is not baroque but Verdi is a PURE METAL pioneer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pW1Uc-grcMs
  19. have to finish A class surfaces for the next show bike, I've got 2 days to finish them and I´ve got fever, instead of being in bed I am working... next week I will drive down to Italy for my holiday, hoping to get well by then
  20. and let´s not forget Blue Cheer, probably the very first Metal act. Anyway yes, Led Zeppelin are definitely amongst the pioneers, although I still consider them the greatest (Black sabbath aside) lately I found out about all the plagiarism and I had somehow to "reassess my appreciation" apologies for my contorted writing but I have feaver right now
  21. Black One in my Pants I was having another go with Sunn o)))
  22. I agree Disturbing the Priest is awesome, Ian Gillian is sounding really really evil. The title track is also amazing Ian is screaming like he probably never did with Deep Purple
  23. well I don't even consider the 33 Stradale, is just too much. It belongs to the - Absolutely untouchable - list for me, so much so that I wonder if it did existed at all. Cars like unicorns. On the list - Forget it you will never get one - I put the Countach, Cuda, De Tomaso Mangusta, Ferrari 328 GTS, Pontiac Trans Am SD etc On the list - Maybe one day - I could put loads of cars, just few examples 1969 Old 442, 1968 Lincoln Continetal, Lancia Beta Montecarlo, Lancia Gamma Coupe, Fiat 130 Coupe, BMW 635 CSi, Jaguar XJ6 4.2 ...
  24. I do like Tony Martin, I think he is a great singer, he is around the bottom of my list just because the top is immense, my all time favorite band. I really like Tyr but yeah Forbidden and Headless Cross are kind of mediocre imho, I don' t know why, great singing great riffs, but doesn' t work for me. Featuring Tony Iommi is great and Born Again is awesome, I don' t get why it was so criticized, Zero the Hero has one of the heaviest riffs of metal (if not THE heaviest) totally underrated. The base line on symptom of the universe drives me crazy, and the drumming on the whole Black Sabbath album is phenomenal. National Acrobat and Killing yourself to live are pushing up SBS on number 3
