  1. I can pretty much relate to that opinion. 2015 didn't seem like the most productive year to me anyway... NP: Some acid/trance mix
  2. What did you think of Four Phantoms? Personally, I fancied Bell Witch at the time of the release of their debut album, but I had expected some more guts. NP: Coroner - Punishment for Decadence (album)
  3. Although I personally don't think Drawing... makes a better impression as a whole than any of its individual songs do, I still feel obliged to defend the album as it's one of my favorite classic black metal records. The way I experience it, Drawing... feels much more natural than most other records of the earlier Scandinavian scene. The album is paced at a slower rate with deeper vocals, which, as BaN said, gives a more eerie and ritualistic feeling compared to the obsessive tremolo picked chromatic progressions found in the first Darkthrone/... records. It's true that one could take any song from the album as an example for how the rest of the record will sound, but I wouldn't necessarily call that predictability a bad thing; Certain doom metal structures seem like a decent comparison for this view: although you can predict what's happening next, there's still a certain tension (to be resolved) which keeps it all interesting.
  4. Macabre and Yobo will be pleased, if I recall correctly. NP: Sugary Sweet Machines - Tours of the Bleak (album)
  5. The Flying Luttenbachers Anophelia Portishead Edge of Sanity Ornette Coleman
  6. That sounds quite splendid! If I'm not mistaking you were studying for a law degree? It's nice to hear you're doing well on the bike as well (it still isn't chess, but anyway... ;P ). Which type of competition are you into nowadays; tandem/single/...? Any big leagues in sight?
  7. Congratulations to you and the rest of your family!
  8. Well well, I've tried to intepret that first sentence, which led me to assume that one of two following conclusions is quite plausible: - The forum has been hijacked by fellow countrymen. This option wouldn't be too bad as we all know Belgian beer is the ****. - My previous post was formulated in poor English. Anyway, how are you, RO? It's been a while since I've really used the internet, so it's more than safe to say I'm not up to date of the situations occurring in either MF member's life.
  9. I'll be sure to send you a more detailed message later, as the clock as almost reached 4AM here and -as most people- I'm not too sharp at this hour. I'd be delighted to hear your new musical output though
  10. Hey Storm and Alabaster, First of all, I'd like to offer you my best wishes for 2016, although I do realise I'm a bit late with that... I'm not doing too bad really; tomorrow I have a job interview for a job in a supermarket in spe here which does offer me a chance to eventually be employed and next week I'm invited to give a hunting store my best shot. As for other aspects: I'm reading more than I've done during the previous years and sadly, that counts for drinking too, which is becoming a problem to be honest. What concerns music: I'm progressing very quickly, perhaps a bit due my recent involvement in electronical music. Anyway, I'll save more personal comments for PM's, but it's great to be here again. How haveou guys been doing?
  11. Still my favorite album of Death, followed by 'Human'. P.S.: Yes guys, I'm still alive. Hello
  12. I stand by Macabre here. Besides certain songs on Elegy, Amorphis has never interested me.
  13. Hinkstep - My Forest Queen Hey, guys.
  14. As I've never been a fan of Mayhem, I can't comment on them. I like some of Watain's albums and saw them live last year. To mehey were dissapointing on stage; a lot of people seemed to be satisfied with the gig, but I found the music severely lacking, although the energy was there.
  15. Anata - Dreams of Death and Dismay
  16. Skáphe - V Apparently this is a preview track of a new album to be released on I, Voidhanger. It's quite murky death/black metal following in the footsteps of some modern trendsetters. I can't get into it quite yet, but some time might change that.
  17. Wayne Krantz - 2 Drink Minimum Stoic Dissention - Autochthon Youth Lagoon - Wondrous Bughous
  18. Immortal Bird - Empress/Abscess
  19. Each means more than one
  20. Last night's bass session left me with 3 blisters, a burned finger and a cut in my knuckle and pinky. Time to get some super glue.
  21. The flea market was a minor letdown because a lot of the regulars concerning CDs couldn't show up this year. Fortunately, I was still able to snatch some records: Dismember - Where Irconcrosses Grow Crimson Glory - Crimson Glory Crimson Glory - Transcendence Asphyx - The Rack Anathema - Serenades Samael - Worship Him I know I'm not very sociable by only posting here, but it's been extremely busy and my only internet connection consists of a homespot (whatever that might be) on a crappy laptop. Anyway, I'm looking to forward to being a bit more active this Tuesday and the days that follow.
  22. I've never been able to get into Mgla. I do enjoy their other project, Kriegsmaschine, though.
  23. The New Pollutants - Metropolis Rescore
  24. Pestilence - Malleus Maleficarum David Bowie - The Man Who Sold the World Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother
