I think it is pretty good. I've been to Download and i admittedly didn't like it. I really couldn't cope with the layout of the site in general. Walk from camp site to arena was about a half a mile, and After headliners were finished, for whatever reason they'd send you round the long way back and it wasn't very well lit. Bloodstock feels like a community really. Hadn't heard of party san till you mentioned it, the line-up looks very tasty. malevolent creation, watain and satyricon - SQUEEE!

have to agree with wout. depends on your musical taste, but BOA is pretty good for a first festival I think. It's medium sized and not too intimidating some bands for this year are here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbipd80kQa1g5mGK3jce5UBKOCzJTZQ5c My first fest was Sonisphere which was pretty good too. I wouldn't necessarily recommend download as a first fest. (without meaning to discredit it, I found it a little overwhelming)

Hoping for some more Power Metal bands to be announced, but otherwise a good crack !
