  1. I think this is the worst thing I've actually seen on this website. It gave me a good laugh though. Also, I'm getting very upset about NOT BEING ABLE to post without approval. The fact that the head of this website, who is the only one who can fix this, is rarely ever freaking here, is kind of pissing me off to be completely honest. Thank you BAN for being helpful, but i'm quite upset with the head of the website haha.
  2. I couldn't really stomach Nuclear Death. I feel as if they had recorded on something better than a 4 track then they would be listenable. I just can't stand not being able to hear anything that's going on. Literally the only thing I could make out was the drums, and the drummer was pretty good. Baal Gadriel would be much better if the lead guitar was in tune, being a guitar player hearing that stuff makes me cringe relentlessly. But definitely a very solid melo-black metal band. Sympathy was absolutely AWESOME in my opinion. Great riffs, great drummer, and you can actually hear the bass in the mix. Only complaint would be the vocals. I feel they could have been brought out a little more, but hey, it's a lesser heard of band, so it's great for what it is! I feel like you and me may have a very similar musical taste Iceni. My next contribution: Martyr. The canadian Proggy Tech-Death band. I absolutely love their shit. Vocals are semi-reminiscent of Chuck Schuldiner of Death, at least to me. Very crazy guitar riffs, and an AWESOME drummer. I'll share two songs with ya. The first being a newer one, and the second being an older one. AA8ifjMtXlo _wy5bEAqjAk
  3. I agree with FatherAlabaster. Let's leave self promotion out of this, and focus more on bands we listen to and enjoy. If anything, post bands that influence you, just don't self promote yourself as i do think it will kill the energy we have in this thread. Also, I don't know if you guys missed the last two bands I posted or not, but I'm surprised nobody has said a word about them.
  4. Hey Sinful, I would put that in the same category as Linkin Park, only not quite as bad. Never really been a fan of that genre. My next submission: Becoming The Archetype. A great progressive death metal act. I'm more a fan of stuff off of this record "Terminate Damnation," as their later stuff gets less interesting in my opinion. Some parts of this record do get pretty 'core' but it's still an excellent listen. The song I'm going to show you is called "Elegy: Deception/Lament/Triumph". Also be forewarned, they are a "christian" band, but I don't really pay much attention to that aspect of them as much I do the instrumental aspects. -BjSCO05pW4
  5. Also, I'm sure everyone here has heard of them. But my absolute FAVORITE band of all time: Between The Buried And Me. I personally believe them to be the absolute best progressive metal band out there, especially after the release of Parallax II: Future Sequence. I'm sharing with you my favorite song off of that record. Silent Flight Parliament. The first half of the song is actually recycling riffs from the rest of the album, kind of a recap to the story being told, and at the end of the song, it leaves off for the ultimate conclusion. It sounds unfinished at the end, but that's because It bleeds into the next song. So without me blabbering on and being more of a fanboy, here you go: prRjZM2WDHE
  6. I still can't post without moderator approval, so I apologize for not really participating much in my own thread.. It's getting quite bothersome actually, to the point where I may stop coming back here eventually. I'm hoping that this issue can be worked out.
  7. FatherAlabaster, I used to be REALLY into that band. I actually own physical copies of all of their albums, including their extremely rare 2002 release "8949." They were definitely ahead of their time. An absolutely awesome contribution to this topic.
  8. BAN, I would recommend checking out Rivers of Nihil's music video for (Sin)chronos then, it's an older song, but i personally think it's pretty sweet. That or their song Airless. Inceni, Threshold reminds me of a mix between Children of Bodom, Dream Theater, and some 80's heavy metal. I strangely dig this.
  9. There's only one thing I've heard that's worse than this.... A band called Mammal Sauce. Here's the LINK I am sad to say I am in this "band", and it's just a joke and it makes fun of stuff like this. So if there's anything GOOD about what my joke band does, it's the comedic value, and certainly not the musicality.
  10. Atten Ash was EXCELLENT. and this Infinitum band is pretty damn good as well. I'm quite surprised I haven't heard either of these bands before. Here's my next contribution: 2tm_1HZDUWo Rivers of Nihil. They've been around since 2009, but only just got signed last year, releasing their new album in October. I was damn surprised by the full length. I'd say its Technical/Blackened/Brutal Death Metal? hahaha theres a lot of different stuff going on.
  11. This post is a test to see if I'm able to post once again...
  12. Actually, it was pretty good for a black metal band. Black metal has never really been my kinda thing though. The most I can listen to as far as black metal goes is Abigail Williams and Deafheaven.
  13. Excellent pick. Haven't heard of these guys before. Usually I'm not too fond of most bands hailing from south/central america, but these guys are pretty damn good. I'm gonna throw another one at you guys real quick: Obscure Sphinx. A pretty damn good Doom/Sludge Metal band in my opinion. This a full album stream for you to enjoy if you so choose. I recommend you skip around the video a bit though. Some great moments on this record.
  14. Here are playthroughs done very recently for EMGtv. The first would be of Juular, the second would be of Kingdom. Awesome live performances by Townsend. The control he has over his voice is not of this world. KINGDOM
  15. None of my posts from earlier went through.. They "require a moderator to approve them" for whatever reason.. Don't quite know why that is. I don't even know if this one will go through, but I've been ATTEMPTING to stay in the conversation.. Also I didn't mean ONLY one thing posted per day lol I just was hoping people would come back to post more.. The more the merrier.
  16. Hahahahha hey man, you never know! But yes, it was a joke.
  17. What am I listening to.. hmmm. Always on shuffle, always. So here's my Last.FM, you'll see a lot of variety there. DestroyerDivine?s Music Profile ? Users at Last.fm
  18. I personally am the same with shoegaze. But Deafheaven's new record Sunbather was stellar in my opinion. And I rarely listen to black metal OR shoegaze. Also, to answer the question of the OP. Metal is relatively popular in the southern states of the US, Brazil, Russia, and certain parts of the UK. At least this is from what I have noticed. You'll usually hear metal bands grace the waves of radio stations in the southeastern states of the USA. Most notably in Georgia, North and South Carolinas, Missouri, and some parts of Florida. This being said, I have gotten metal played here in Pennsylvania, but alas, it has to be after 10pm
  19. @Alabaster I was going more along the lines of stuff like Arghoslent where the band advocates racism. I'm merely trying to keep people from getting super offended lol. Being angry or politically driven is obviously a part of a lot of metal (just look at Job For A Cowboy, "I masturbate on the scripture [talking about the constitution]" is an incredibly anti-governmental stance), but that's not what I was insinuating at all. Just the racist stuff! Plus yeah, nazi oriented music tends to be a big taboo. lol.
  20. Winds of Plague went off my radar after their album The Great Stone War. Anything after that album has been extremely boring for me. I liked the Symphonic approach they took with TGSW.
  21. I would say start listening to christian metal that doesnt bother you too much and show him the lyrics to them. Tell him you're listening to music about god and just because something is heavy doesnt mean it is bad. If your dad is an athiest, then i dont know what to tell you then.. lol
