Whaaat? You're missing out, man! But it isn't for everybody I suppose. Over here, you have a lot of hoopties that blare their rap music. I enjoy revving my bike and drowning out the music. The annoyed looks I get from the drivers as they roll their windows up is priceless. One of the reasons I prefer my Harley over different types of bikes.

Cars are cool, but I personally enjoy motorcycles much more. Not so much the crotch rockets, but Harleys and such. I live in the desert, so it's usually riding weather year round.

I didn't know they had been around since the mid 90s. I'd also like to see them live. They probably don't do many shows in the U.S. though.

As far as the Dune series goes' date=' the original six books are where it's at. Frank Herbert was a fucking genius. I don't mind the prequels that his son did, but the continuations, the "seventh" and "eighth" books that he wrote, were fucking awful. I almost couldn't get through them. Have you read Dune, itself? Amazing book, still one of my favorites.[/quote'] I actually have not read that yet. A friend turned me on to House Atredies, which I read a while back. I don't really know much about the series other than Atredies and what I've read in Harkonnen so far. If I read Dune will it spoil Harkonnen and other books? As far as the Dark Tower series goes, I really enjoyed the series. Being a big fan of King, I enjoy how he ties characters from other books into the series. Wizard and Glass (book 5 or something) was one of the best books I've ever read. I HATE the last book of the series though. I was pretty disappointed.

I like the songwriting on Stormblast, but the production is horrid, so thin and tinny sounding, even the debut sounded better. Some people were opposed to the re-recording, but that album really needed a facelift. I wouldn't rank either among my favorites, but it is one of the better albums in their catalog. Personally, I really enjoyed their first two albums, and even their remake of Stormblast. Spiritual Black Dimensions, I believe it was called, was a decent album that I enjoyed. Everything after that, I just find it hard to get into. And with Mustiss (sp?) gone, I haven't even given the band the time of day.

Don't give up, skip ahead, there's some good stuff in The Silmarillion. Definitely dry, though. Ever read Frank Herbert's "Dune" books or Roger Zelazny's "Chronicles Of Amber"?

This is true, which is why I don't associate with many black metallers. I have been lucky to come across many open-minded fans on forums, but often IRL they are as you describe. Black metal tends to be my most listened to genre of music, but I also tend not to follow the trends that most others do with it. I prefer first wave/early second wave bands from non-Scandinavian areas, and don't indulge in near as much Darkthrone, Drudkh, and Emperor worship as most other fans, I prefer my black metal to be black METAL, with a focus on riffs. I do like all sorts though, and I don't shun bands just for experimenting or doing something outside the imaginary lines imposed by short sighted pricks. Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2

Sorry folks been having Internet connection issues on my iPhone (always Roaming). Anyways, I had actually stopped listening to music altogether for about 3 years now until recently. I've started getting back into metal, especially BM, the last couple of months now. Some of the bands I like (not all BM): Emperor, Dissection, Rotting Christ, Marduk, early Dimmu, Behemoth, Amon Amarth, Korpiklaani, Kalmah, Xasthur, Bolt Thrower & Edge of Sanity just to name a few. I have been branching out to other metal genres, but I consider BM to be my favorite.

If you have good headphones/speakers, play Tyrannical by Rotting Christ. You will not be disappointed.

Sigh is an awesome band. If I remember right, euronymous actually discovered these guys and signed them to his record label. Although they sound a bit different from their older albums,HH is still a great album. Another great Asian metal band is Chthonic. Check out "quasi putrefication" or "bloody Gaya fulfilled" by Chthonic.

First off let me say the question ("what does Lars Ulrich play?") the Skin Flute is not a valid option. I may have found the wrong forum, but I know nothing of Megadeth nor do I give a crap about them. Sorry don't mean to offend anybody here. I listen to black metal, and found these forums from a google search on one of my favorite artists: Samael. Anyways, I hope I'm not the only fan of BM here. If I am I'm obviously in the wrong place. Anyways, hello people. Hope I can learn of some good bands from some of you, and, who knows, maybe you can learn of a few from me.
