  1. BTW I must at last listen to Cultes Des Ghoules and see why there is such a big fuss about them
  2. Best metal albums: Summoning - Old Mornings Dawn The Flight of Sleipnir - Saga Falkenbach - Asa Red Fang - Whales and Leeches Rotting Christ - Kata Ton Daymona Eaytoy Darkthrone - The Underground Resistance Caladan Brood - Echeos of Battle Carpe Noctem - In Terra Profugus Non-metal: Wardruna - Runaljod Yggdrasil Daemonia Nymphe - Psychostasia Disappoitments: New Carcass (total failer, I don't know what people see in it), Watain, Burzum, Amon Amarth (again...), Kvelertak (it's actually not bad, but surely not as good as the debut album. My expactations were higher). There is pretty big possibility that I missed something.
  3. This I've also posted only a little things; holydays, you know. Since January everything should back to normal (so at least three posts a week). News - support the underground Review: Irminsul - Fader
  4. In last week: News: Hooded Menace - New EP Kampfar on tour Arkona (PL) - new album Review: Korpiklaani - Manala (2012) Interview: Ereb Altor - epic viking metal from Sweden Plus small article: Winter Solstice
  5. I've never lost interest in metal, but for sure there is a time when you want to try some other stuff too. Beside metal I love to listen to neofolk and traditional folk music from Europe, Enya, some electronic stuff and even hip-hop (though there are only 2 or 3 artists that I really like). I've never liked classical music though, I prefer movie soundtracks for that sake. BTW other thing is that metal is now so diverse music that it's hard to get bored with that ;]
  6. Currently I am listenning to: Summoning - Stronghold Summoning - Old Mornings Dawn Summoning - Nightshade Forests EP (by the way - what a great artwork!) Otyg - Alvefard Falkenbach - Asa ...so lots of atmospheric stuff is visiting my music player.
  7. Mostly I don't like female-fronted bands. Not because I am a sexist or gay, haha, but mostly I associate them with symphonic-power metal things or this melodic death metal/metalcore genre. I like though Moss of Moonlight, Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult, Janaza and some of the old Nightwish's albums ('till Century Child to be more precise).
  8. There is a snow in Egypt, and there is no snow here in Poland. That sucks.
  9. More or less it's the same with me. Christmass is in 90% a pagan holyday, so I don't have problems with it. I just don't go to church, pray to Jesus and sing corals. Beside that it's good to be with a family on such occasions. I would say that: religions are changing, but the holyday is still the same. For me it is a matter of culture too. The only thing that I don'y like is commercialization of this day, but fortunetely I don't watch TV and rarely visit shopping malls so I don't care about it much.
  10. Korpiklaani Gra Falkenbach Burzum Jarun
  11. Because of some technical problems and my ilness, in last week I did only one review: Gra - Necrology of the Witch EP Fans of scandinavian black metal - this is something for you.
  12. Burzum Carpathian Forest Solstafir Falkenbach Darkthrone
  13. Oh, and speaking of songs, I love Ea Lord of The Depths and Jesu Dod.
  14. Too much to count, yet I remember how I was excited when I've discovered Burzum. Filosofem and the debut are still one of my favourites albums ever.
  15. Later works of Anal Cunt were more listenable than e.g. Morbid Florist. Generally speaking it was such an awesome band, too bad that Seth died before recording the grindcore version of Fuckin' A.
  16. Thanks! And of course support the band if you like their music.
  17. In last week: Review of "Once Hidden From Sight" by Vin de Mia Trix. Long interview with Carpe Noctem from Iceland. Ana a promo trailer from Woodtemple
  18. Generally speaking when I watch how most of the metalheads behave I am always emberassed. Most of them listen to the music just because they like the "atmopshere", not specially the music itself. In my case it's completely otherwise - I like music, and hate this idiotic stereotypes of drunkards and freaks, trying to be cool. So the most embarassing are always the people, especially those younger ones around sweet sixteen hehe. Haha, I feel now like an always querulous, embittered old man by the way.

    Books?

I lately found King's book "The Long Walk" (written under R. Bachman pen name) for equivalent of 4$, ha! I just started to reading it, seems interesting, especially that I like such apocalyptic visions of the future. Yet personally I am not a big fan of King. For me he's very overrated. Though some of his writings are really good especially classic The Shining.
  20. When I was a teenager I was avoiding this band like hell, due to "not kvlt enough" image" But now when I am smarter and I don't care about such things much I tried War Master and it's actually a nice piece of music! Can you recommend me some more good albums from them? Possibly not only those older, but also some newer stuff.

    bands?

I would add also: Arkona, Skyforger, Temnozor, Radogost, Biały Viteź from Eastern Europe. And also try Otyg (from Sweden), one of my fav folk metal bands. And look up to the thread "Good Folk Metal Bands" is Iceni said. You will find there more and more good bands
  22. Pokemon. I remember how when I was in primary school everybody was running to home after classes to watch one of the episodes in TV. And how everybody was collecting and than exchanging with other kids those small, round tazos added to Lay's chips. It was cool. Punk or classic rock?
  23. Oh, and now I am listenning to Electric Wizard's Vinum Sabbathi. Dopethrone is a good soundtrack between drinking with friends and sleeping huh!
  24. Well, than check out Terrordome - an altra fast thrash/crossover. You should like that. I'm not very into traditional thrash metal, I like more brutal kind of playing. But this guys defenitely have power!
