  1. Demonic Slaughter - Downfall Wardruna - Yggdrasil Burzum - Belus
  2. In last week: News Review - Demonic Slaughter - 'Downfall'
  3. @FatherAlabaster - yeah, Enslaved has many great artworks. But this for Below The Lights is fucking outstanding! I love this kind of stuff.
  4. Katatonia has indeed great covers. Especially the last one is wonderful, although the music is mediocre. The Alcest's artworks look also good. I will defenitely check'em out.
  5. Tim Minchin - the guy is a genius hah!
  6. Lately on Heathen Altar: News from the last week New video trailer of Lord Wind Reviews: Furia - 'W melancholii' Emyn Muil - 'Turin Turambar Dagnir Glaurunga'
  7. While listenning to music, mostly I do completely nothing. I like to focus on what's currently in my player. Sometimes though I listen to music while walking, and even more rare while I'm reading. In the latter case it's always something instrumental. And by the way - isn't an alcohol just an extra add to the music? I mean - it doesn't collide at all :]
  8. BTW - here you have links to some of the mentioned bands. Propably my favourites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGupr_ISDtc, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKF3ps4nH2o, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxlLGTZkyjc, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn5jQUd_hss, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAXu8j-w5IY, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYevBLUtuLc,
  9. @FatherAlabaster Mari Boine, Wardruna, Din Brad, Lord Wind, Daemonia Nymphe, Faun, Current 93, Death In June, Sol Invictus, Fejd, Clannad, even Enya haha. From more purely folk music: Percival, Dikanda, Jar (PL), The Chieftains... The last one is from Ireland - celtic music is very popular, you shouldn't have problems in finding something for you There is a well done article about neofolk on Wiki, by the way. I started my journey with this genre there (from Faun band), so I recommend you to check it out.
  10. Well, I like some of Korn stuff (mostly single songs, not full albums) and two albums of Soulfly. The rest of this subgenre is pure boredom for me. And another thing - maybe I'm wrong, but for me nu-metal is long gone. Even the biggest icons of this style changed eventually their music. As you can see, this genre was mainly promoted by the big labels, and so when they stopped to give attention to such bands nu-metal plague quickly disappeard. This is the difference between music made by big companies to earn money, and the music made by ordinary people in the heart of the underground. Death metal, thrash metal to count few - those genres had better and worse days in mainstream media, but they still live after so many years.
  11. I've got lately not a lot of time, due to the exams on my university. But those albums were visiting my player lately: 1. Summoning - Old Mornings Dawn 2. Lord Wind - Ales Stenar 3. Burzum - Belus 4. And a compilation of TSA best songs. It's such a hard rock/heavy metal stuff, cult in Poland
  12. @BlutAusNerd Dude, I even made an interview with them in my 'zine I enjoy their music very much! Their debut was defenitely one of my favourite releases in the last year.
  13. Well, very good way to start a morning That's one of the best albums of Katatonia in my opinion. I listen to Eluveitie - Inis Mona. I always HATED this band, but actually this track is pretty good... I will defenitely give a try to the full album. Also a track 'Omnos' sounds really great, but I love pure folk music in general, so that's not a big surprise that I enjoy it either hehe.
  14. Tyr - Into the Sky. The whole Valkyrja album is quite OK, although it is not very surprising.
  15. What's new on Heathen Altar 'Zine: Some news from the last week Review: Tyr - 'Valkyrja' (2013) Interview with Jarun (only in polish, english version will appear soon)
  16. Propably early '90s - for the black and death metal classic albums. But to be honest I don't care much about any 'eras', nowadays there are still many great bands and albums.
  17. Kultur Shock - Sarajevo. What a cool song!
  18. In the last week: Review: Kvelertak - 'Meir' News part I News part II
  19. Rotting Christ - Kata Ton Daimona Eaytoy
  20. Another portion of my pseudo-reviews: News from the last week Reviews: Arsaidh (Saor) - 'Roots' Koldbrann - 'Vertigo'
  21. Rotting Christ - 'Grandis Spiritus Diavolos'. What a great track! Their whole new album is just amazing...
  22. No, the vocalist of Massemord is also a drummer in Furia. The whole line-up is the same for both bands.
  23. Motorhead - 'Fire, Fire'. It's time to relax after a long day.
  24. @JBaker try this (one of my favourites): Kozlak Bock Beer | Browar Amber It's out of the stock, but maybe you will find it somewhere in the stores. Also speaking of Poland and alcohol (haha!), try this if you like something stronger. It's my favourite vodka, made from around 30 herbs: Wodka Zoladkowa Gorzka | Polish Vodka
  25. @FatherAlabaster you're right with ł, it's like english 'w'. And I know that it is spelled like you said in english-speaking countries, but we called it as you can see differently. This 'ą' should be read more or less as 'on' in french (like in bon apetit) by the way.
