Definitely! I am an AoP fan! I prefer  Mammal and White Tomb, but I respect how they tried to do something different with this album. 

AOSOTH - IV. Great band, great album.
I listened to this album years ago on headphones on a long haul flight. I had it on repeat and kept drifting off to sleep then back into the music. I finally stopped listening and decided that I had fathomed all its convolutions but I was probably in fact dreaming. 
Excellent album but I haven't listened to it again since then.

My brother gave me Tilt (the album this is off for those who don't know) for my 40th birthday. I listened to it - and this is the first track - for the first time as I was driving from Newcastle to Sydney as the sun set and as bushfires burned on one side of the road. My brother died some years ago now.
As you can imagine, apart from this being a great piece of music, it has so many deep and emotional associations for me and like the best music reaches beyond the rational.

Wrath? Me? Never! It's a good illustration. Nobody is handing out points for good anatomy and perspective in a piece like this. The unrefined "naive" treatment has a folk art character that makes it feel more urgent, more like a document of something somebody actually experienced, which is a feeling that a more polished approach could easily fail to convey.

I agree. I warmed up to it more after I saw them live, too, whatever it feels like it's "missing" on the recording came through well onstage. 

Suffering Hour - The Cyclic Reckoning - not as good as their first, but still a solid record
Of Feather & Bone - Sulfuric Disintegration - fucking grind into oblivion
Stygian Obsession - Form is Void - never seen anything else by these dudes but this crushes
Cruz - Culto Abismal - another crushing one off (for me anyway)
 

Frustratingly it's less than 3 hours from where I live and yet I know in advance that I will never have the time to go. But if you're in the region maybe we could meet up. My friend the bass player loved it this past year, I think she said Dødheimsgard was in her top ten shows ever.

Afterbirth - In But Not Of

I had a lot of love for Devin's music until the Z2 double record (2014). After that, I was quite tired of his formula, and I stopped listening to his music. This album came out of nowhere so I gave it a shot. It was refreshing to hear that music after many years, but I wouldn't say I'd like to hear tons of new music from him, he's so productive that it becomes unlistenable.
