  1. More garlic burgers, grilled medium rare, dressed with tomatoes, onions, and avocados. An American classic that's far too easy to both fuck up and execute perfectly. Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
I envy you right now. We have some awesome beef in the fridge, but my wife keeps saying it's for a lasagna and I'm not allowed to touch it. So i just had some pan-fried Chinese chicken dumplings and a Scotch ale. Can't complain, I guess...:D
  2. Human as an album isn't my favorite. I love some of the songs, but as a whole I feel like it drags. Individual Thought Patterns, Sound Of Perseverance, and Symbolic are the ones I always got into the most. I don't get why some people take a dump on Symbolic, it's a great album. There's nothing wrong with being approachable. It took me a long time to start liking Death, and I'm still not that into anything before Spiritual Healing.

  3. Enslaved is probably my favorite band all things considered, and I have all of their output. I found Ruun and (morseo) Vertebrae to be a bit underwhelming as successors to Isa, sort of using the same sound (a bit odd for their usually ever-evolving progression) but without as much dynamic range or power. Those two albums and Eld are my least favorite of theirs, but we're still talking about good albums, they just pale in comparison to the greatness that surrounds them. My favorite albums of theirs are Frost, Mardraum, Monumension, Isa, and Axioma Ethica Odini. Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
Isa is amazing, they definitely found a different voice on that album (I think the Red Harvest drummer had a good bit to do with it). My initial impression of Ruun was the same as yours, but it grew on me quite a bit, and now I sometimes prefer it to Isa. Those two are my favorites after Below The Lights, although I haven't listened to RIITIIR yet. I'm not a huge fan of their older stuff. I liked some of Blodhemn although it's been years since I listened to it, and Mardraum and Monumension never did much for me - they do seem to be fan favorites but for some reason they haven't clicked in my head yet.
  4. Unfortunately, your actions have no effect on whose hill it is, since Iceni got in there first. I become very frustrated by the inexplicable computer problems I've been having. In a fit of rage, I yank the hard drive out and smash it with a sledgehammer. Unbeknownst to me, your spirit is still in there at the time, innocently browsing through my porn collection. Your consciousness is scrambled by the strike, making you much nicer and less competitive (if somewhat stupid) and changing your username to Bovine Loser Lentils. I mail my album backup to the mastering house. When it's pressed, I offer Iceni a physical copy in exchange for some studio space on the hill.

  5. You thought it was the right hill, but without your tandem captain, you couldn't see well enough and rode over an anthill by mistake. That thudding and crashing you heard was JBaker stumbling over my corpse while looking for his Sarcofago CD. The ants swarm over your face and into your nose and mouth, devouring soft tissues while you attempt to scream in agony. Soon there's nothing left but bones. Iceni remains up on his hill, though his reign is troubled by indecision and guilt over having killed me. At least temporarily, it's still Iceni's hill.

  6. You throw your back out while kicking Iceni; furthermore, your knee feels funny and you're worried you might have stubbed your toe. Your fears are confirmed when your leg swells up overnight, and your back hurts so badly that you can't stand up straight. You can't possibly defend your hill. Overcome with remorse for Iceni's horrific murder, and filled with sorrow because you may have permanently ruined your cycling prospects, you ask me to step in as hill guardian. You limp off into the wilderness, never to return. I remain your faithful steward. De facto, my hill.

  7. Re: What Are You Listening To?

The snippets I heard were good. This is the first time I'm making an effort to listen to it rather than just peripherally hearing it.
Gotcha. That's the one that got me into Death, and I still think it's awesome though it's not my favorite. You should check out Sound Of Perseverance.
  8. Re: What's on your mind?

The LDS Church History Building in downtown Salt Lake has an inverted pentagram carved into the stone above the entryway. I think it's hilarious that the Mormons don't seem to notice that, nor plagiarized Masonic and pagan symbols on their other buildings. Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
That's hilarious! We have Mormons here but I haven't noticed any of their churches. The most ornate and interesting ones in Brooklyn seem to be the Russian Orthodox churches, and there's lots of interesting stuff at a Masonic temple, which oddly doubles as a music venue - I've seen Swans and Neurosis there.
