There's a bit of black metal in their sound - in fact that's why I got into them when I was a teenager, it was the trem-picked black metal melodies and blasts, higher vocals, but arranged in a less straightforward death-metal way. That's what I loved about the Gothenburg scene, and that's what I feel is missing from everything after the mid-to-late 90s - it's not that I don't like new music, I love new music, but I feel like the bands that stuck around from that scene kept the boring parts, supplemented them with some really lame shit, and stopped doing the good stuff.

The Moaning?! What kinda band name is that... No, I'll look for them on youtube. I know there's a full album stream of Silence Of The World Beyond, you should definitely give it a listen. No clean vocals, though...

Hey Yobo, do you know A Canorous Quintet? "Silence Of The World Beyond" and "The Only Pure Hate" are some really awesome old-school melodeath, if you like old DT and In Flames you might really dig them.
