  1. There's not a lot here to chew on for me. Basic structure, basic grooves, moderately catchy in parts, no real sense of direction or payoff. Paint by numbers. To my ears it's a competent but uninspired blend of a few styles I'm not interested in. When bands I like write songs like this, I feel disappointed. If it's a sound that you like or there's something about this particular band that keeps you coming back for more, then carry on. Judging by your instagram, this belongs in the promo section.
  2. King Crimson - Starless And Bible Black
  3. That album's pretty heavy on radio hits. Interested to hear what you think of it, it's much more pop-oriented than what you usually seem to be into. NP: Diabolical Masquerade - Nightwork
  4. I used to listen to Depeche Mode a lot. Violator was far and away my favorite album as a whole, although they had great tracks on others as well. NP: Blood Incantation - Hidden History Of The Human Race
  5. Forhist - "I" (promo track) ...hmm. Ok.
  6. Weird way to bring back a thread that's been inactive for five and a half years. Care to elaborate on this?
  7. Blood Incantation - Hidden History Of The Human Race Unfathomable Ruination - Enraged And Unbound
  8. Alice Coltrane - Journey In Satchidananda
  9. Schoenberg - Verklarte Nacht - Boulez
  10. Great description of their appeal. It took me a while to get into them, too. NP: Castevet - Obsian ...man, I miss this band. Awesome blend of post-metal Isis-ish textures and Icelandic-ish black metal with some prog leanings. And they were so good live.
  11. Sutrah - Aletheia Voidceremony - Entropic something something ...definitely warming up to this on my second listen, gritty old-school feel without being a self-conscious throwback. Lots of creative riffs to chew on.
  12. Blood Incantation - Hidden History Of The Human Race
  13. Enslaved - Utgard ...of the handful of new releases I've checked out in 2020, this one has given me the most enjoyment by far.
  14. I love this album and dig a couple of their others as well. I'm still working my way through their catalog. Really creative 70s prog rock, on the upbeat side, with a wide variety of instruments. If you dig that kind of thing, I highly recommend it. NP: Atheist - Elements
  15. Gentle Giant - The Power And The Glory Necrophagist - Epitaph
  16. Until they get taken down by YouTube and we have to find another link for the same thing and replace it. Please label your videos. It's not hard. If you can't be bothered, don't expect them to stay up for very long.
  17. Both of y'all, please include band name and song title with your video links from now on. Youtube links get broken all the time. Without that info we can't always fix them.
  18. Welcome to the forum. I've always wanted to visit Venice, and Italy in general. I was obsessed with Italian Renaissance art when I was a kid and I dream of seeing some of the murals and statues in person someday. I've been digging into older music for the past few years as well - lately I can't stop listening to Gentle Giant. It's been pretty slow here for a while, but I hope you enjoy the place.
  19. Gentle Giant - The Power And The Glory Enslaved - Utgard Bloodbath - The Fathomless Mastery Satyricon - Dark Medieval Times
  20. Playing and recording music is definitely a pursuit you can dedicate your life to if you want. Good luck with everything. Drums are super fun, learning how to program drum tracks might also be useful. If you want to share your music, please do it in the Promote Yourself section.

I liked this when I read it, been a long time though. My favorite of his is The Ancestor's Tale, have you read that?
