  1. Pariiah - Swallowed By Fog ...sludgy, dirty midpaced guitars, Celtic Frost yelling, relentlessly old-school sound. Fun stuff.
  2. Isgherurd Morth - Hellrduk (promo tracks) ...promising new black metal, I dig it.
  3. Welcome to the forum. What bands have you been listening to lately?
  4. Burning Palace - Hollow Engulfed - Vengeance Of The Fallen
  5. I don't have a lot to add right now, but there are a few albums I'm looking forward to - this February will see new releases from: Ad Nauseam - Imperative Imperceptible Impulse I just listened to about half of this and it's holding up to its promise, a definite step up from their (very good) debut. Chaotic, technical, dissonant DM that doesn't hide behind layers of murk. Here's a link to a full album premiere: https://www.nocleansinging.com/2021/01/29/an-ncs-album-premiere-and-a-review-ad-nauseam-imperative-imperceptible-impulse/ StarGazer - Psychic Secretions Proggy, thra
  6. Ad Nauseam - Imperative Imperceptible Impulse (album premiere via NCS) Stargazer - Psychic Secretions (another album premiere) Forhist - s/t (promo tracks)
  7. Abigor - Orkblut - The Retaliation Abigor - Hollenzwang (Chronicles Of Perdition)
  8. Today's playlist: The Sound - From The Lion's Mouth The Sound - Heads And Hearts The Sound - All Fall Down Svartidaudi - Revelations Of The Red Sword Svartidaudi - Untitled Svart Crown - Profane Thy Darkened Shade - Liber Lvcifer I: Khem Sedjet
  9. I doubt it would damage the nut, I'd be more worried about putting a kink in the string.
  10. Welcome, classic choices there.
  11. Blood Incantation - Hidden History Of The Human Race
  12. Welcome to the forum. Pantera and Slayer were a big part of my introduction to heavier music. There's tons of good stuff waiting for you in the world of metal.
  13. Blut Aus Nord - Memoria Vetusta III: Saturnian Poetry Skinny Puppy - Too Dark Park
  14. Ulcerate - Stare Into Death And Be Still Deathspell Omega - Chaining The Katechon
  15. Yeah, they stopped in the mid 90s, some of them moved away, life, etc. Our old moderator BlutAusNerd became friends with their guitarist on another forum and put me in touch with him years ago, and I've been following them since then. Another album that fits the bill for me is Soundgarden's "King Animal". It's basically dad rock and it doesn't have the raw energy of their 90s stuff, but there are some awesome songs and beautiful moments on there. I go back to it a lot. Chris Cornell is sorely missed.
  16. Cruciamentum - Charnel Passages Desultory - Into Eternity
  17. Hail Spirit Noir - Pneuma Ad Nauseam - "Imperative Imperceptible Impulse", a promo track from their upcoming album. They made waves in the dissonant Ulcerate/DSO/Gorguts camp a few years ago with their debut album, and this track sees them upping their game. Been looking forward to this for a while.
  18. Arise is fantastic, my favorite from Sepultura and one of my two favorite thrash albums overall.
  19. Man, I used to love "MCMXC AD", haven't listened to Enigma in such a long time. I wonder if I still have the CD somewhere.
  20. Welcome to the forum. Pretty slow here these days but there's something nice about that. Good luck with your pursuit of guitar, hope you enjoy the place.
  21. Nice, glad you liked it. The debut is called "The Time Traveller's Dilemma" and the one that came out last year (also great) is "Four Dimensional Flesh". You might like their vocalist's other band Artificial Brain, too.
  22. My experience of testing here in the northeastern USA has been crappy. The free testing locations are always full - which means that some people are getting tested, which is great, but it seems impossible to get an appointment - and even if you have insurance, the paid locations make you pay out of pocket unless you get a referral from your doctor. So unless you have symptoms or you know for certain that you've been exposed, you can either pay anywhere from $80-$180 depending on the location, or you can suck it and wait. Despite all of our precautions, my wife and son and I got COVID shor
