Mick Wall "Appetite for Destruction" - book I got in the sale at a record store today.  Lots of beers (see Beer Appreciation thread), latest copy of Zero Tolerance magazine and Mogwai "Les Revenants".  The Mogwai CD was available twice in the same store, same CD, same issue, not an import, one was £5.99 and the other £7.99.  Do the math dickhead.

I don't hate "core" I just don't identify with much within it so tend to leave it to others to enjoy.  I have a Parkway Drive album somewhere (JBaker would be so proud) but I rarely listen to it.  It has an energy that appeals to me but the longevity is poor for my taste.  As I explore metal further (it has taken me 26 years to get to this point) I still never find myself drawn to "core" but I don't think that is necessarily an age thing just a personal impatience with a genre that I agree - with my limited knowledge - has a lot of the same going on.

The story behind the Trout and ring logo is nice - goofy but nice.

There's worse things to have.  An acquaintance of mine has seen Conan live in a pub and said they sucked I recall however I wouldn't imagine their sound does well in a small drinking establishment.

Macabre, did you ever get to see Conan? I've never even tried to find video of them playing live, but somehow they are a band that I'd really like to see. My made up impression of them is that they would never leave England. 

Can't go to shows unfortunately. Have a busted right ear drum thanks to a rather nasty infection from years ago. Nowadays can't have headphones on either for the same reason. Imagine they would slay live though. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

Was planning on ordering new Vastum but not sold on the 3 tracks I heard. New Aevangelist is just frankly unlistenable.
