  1. Hi Colly, I am sure you will find like minded music fans here. Welcome, I am guessing Mayhem are one of your favoured bands? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. The reason nobody stays here is because the majority of the time there's nobody here to interact with. I can't recall one person - other than KJ probably - who joined in the last 6 months and still posts regularly. We are a damn sight nicer than some of the places I have been to on the web (and still reside in). Whether we like it or not we are a community not a sprawling forum of multiple regulars (I doubt any such forum exists anywhere on the web nowadays in the age of FaceBook, Titter and Instagrab). The important thing is that we like the place. Look at us when it breaks, we are on Facebook carrying on the threads there trying to get to Tait because we want to be back here posting (and he comes through). KJ - you seem to like it here too but let's not get caught up in thinking every "Hello" thread is a new 10,000 poster because that isn't the case. I am not starting a "what's wrong with MF" debate either, just correcting what in my opinion was a misguided statement.
  3. As someone who has worked with people with all forms of mental illness in the past I would say good on you for recognising that the route of "pills fix everything" is a load of bollocks. The NHS is supposed to promote a holistic approach to treatment and recovery and in the case of mental health it is more about helping the patient identify what makes them feel better as opposed to just throwing pills at them and assuming that is the be all and end all! Pills are just a sticking plaster over wounds (not saying you have massive wounds JFK - I don't know you but just my experience of these matters). Good luck with the counselling. Looks like our plans to raise some cash for a deposit for a house have fallen through, which although disappointing wasn't that unexpected tbh. We still have a couple of options but the timescale is anything between 3 and 5 years now with us in the rental market the whole time. That's a few more years of hiding bodies in other people's houses.
  4. I am changing my purchasing habits a bit. I am spending more time with releases before actually buying them. Ritual Chamber bit me from the off though as just having more depth to it that I wanted to explore. I may well end up with all three mentioned but right now I just haven't explored the other two enough to say whether I would add them. Being sat on my ass at home for 6 weeks now has given me opportunity to not just review my collection but also to review how I approach music purchases. I think I have definitely been guilty in the past of dipping in after just one or two listens and then never listening to stuff again or not for a while at least. I don't know if it is a form of "growing up" (at nearly 40) but I just feel I want to take more time to appreciate the music and build more of a collection that I want to if that makes sense?
  5. Wolvserpent "Aporia:Kala:Ananta" - usual bonkers combo of drone, death metal, doom metal, black metal, folk and harrowing classical influences from this duo except this time as one single song 40 minute composition. Inverloch "Distance Collapsed" - outstanding debut from however many quarters of dISEMBOWELMENT are in the band. Crushing yet brilliantly composed. Inquisition "Obscure Verses for the Multiverse" - it took me a while to get to grips with Inquisition. That minimal vocal delivery made me laugh out loud the first time I heard it but as time has wore on I have gotten to grips with their sound as a whole much better. This album sticks in my head for days with it's bendy notes and riffs.
  6. Finally got Ritual Chamber "Obscurations.." after toying with CHTHE'ILIST and Cruciamentum this came out on top.
  7. Great news Relentless! Congrats. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Kauan "Sorni Nai" - beautiful folk edged post-rock.
  9. Inquisition "Invoking the Majestic Throne of Satan"
  10. Inquisition "Magnificent Glorification of Lucifer"
  11. Enslaved "Frost" Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Behemoth "From The Pagan Vastlands"
  13. I would prefer to level some constructive criticism but, really that is just simply terrible. I mean, those vocals are awful. Add to this the one riff that loops throughout the entire song is so one dimensional it is painful. Give me my hearing back more like.
  14. My girlfriend got promoted at work today - finally. After months of working far above her pay grade and salary she has even successfully negotiated herself a lucrative training (industry recognised) package as well as a significant increase in salary also. I remain undecided about my new role even though the work is far more interesting than when I first switched over. I am waiting to establish a client base for myself before mulling things over further.
  15. Inquisition "Obscure Verses for the Multiverse"
  16. Hello, yeah I have a few of their tracks around here somewhere although I have just been on a purge and suspect they may have been bumped.
