  1. @RelentlessOblivion: I did not mean to say, that it is not the artists choice and I think it is right to remove lyrics online, if this is the wish of the artist. I just want to understand why, because at the first glance, it sounded a bit like a contradiction to me and the motives interest me. @BlutAusNerd: Ok, I think I understand what you mean now. So it is less about "hiding" them but rather making sure they are experienced in the right context (with the music)?
  2. I cannot come up with a reason that actually makes sense to me, so maybe some of you know any? Sometimes it is hard to understand the lyrics of a song (even clear vocals) and I like to look them up. Depending on the band, the lyrics actually have a deeper meaning and for me knowing what they are singing about is part of the fun. I cannot see, why they don't want their lyrics published. Any ideas?
  3. Thanks for the hint, they are great. I hope they will reach their goal. Just ordered a perk.

    Books?

I ike reading a lot of different genres, from fantasy to non-fiction. If the author is English-speaking, I read the book in English, else I take the German version. Once my Swedish is better, I will try some Swedish books as well, same with my Finnish. Currently I really enjoy reading Moby-Dick while listeing to Ahab, just the perfect sound track.
  5. For me it depends on the band. Some bands are only fun live, because, while they are not so good on the record, their music is great for just jumping/moshing/handbanging around and it is a lot of fun with friends. Others are great live as well as on record, I just love to experience their music live. As BAN said, you can feel the music better, hard to explain for me, just a lot of endorphines flowing around for me . A good visual show is not so important for me, I like interaction with the audience and a great atmosphere, but fire shows or the like are not a must for me. I enjoy them, of cause, but I would enjoy the gig without proberbly as much. So for me it mainly getting lost in the music one way or the other. Neck pain is the best indicator of a good gig the next day, since I usually prefer headbanging to moshing, too. Depending on the fans, a pit can be great, too. But I am more for moshing WITH each other rather than AGAINST each other. It is a way of dancing for me, not a fight. Might sound untrue, but I never liked the people who actually start beating or purposely hurting others in the pit.
  6. Thanks for your reply. I was thinking about a travel guitar, but they are still too long to fit into 55x30x40 cm bags. I have read now that soft guitar bags are actually allowed to, so maybe I can reach my goal by combining a travel guitar with a acoustic travel bag so that cloth fit in as well. Has anyone experience with Fusion Gigbags or similar products?
  7. Well, that depends on what "happy" means. If by happy you mean happy sound then I can think of quite a few, but happy lyricwise is much harder. Finntroll for example has many very happy sounds, but the lyrics are usually not so happy. Or maybe they are from a troll perspective . Same with the Iron Maiden example in a previous post. My top 6 happy songs currently in no partivular order (sorry, I could not decide which one to remove to make it 5): Diablo swing orchestra - Vodoo Mon Amour Finntroll - öhm, the whole Blodsvept album, cannot decide Mötley Crüe - Smoking in the Boys Room Deamons & Wizards - Cromson King Vreid - The Devils Hand DImmu Borgir - Cataclysm Children But actually there are many songs that simply make me happy, even if the tune is not.
  8. Currently dominating my Mp3-Player: Opeth Finntroll (I just love the new album) Solstafir Vreid Xanthochroid
  9. Hi, my current job demands, that I travel a lot. When you fly every week at least 2 times, it becomes quite annoying to check in a bag, because it means 30 minutes earlier at the airport and leaving 30 minutes later, plus you don't always get your bag, because it ended up somewhere else. So I usually prefer flying with hand-luggage only. Do you have any suggestions for a hand-luggage friendly guitar-bag in which I could also put all my other stuff? Or maybe a guitar, that fits into normal hand-luggage suite cases? Though I love great sound, I rather have a portable instrument that allows me to practise daily and sounds only ok, than not being able to practise daily. The location changes a lot as well, so simply buying a second instrument and place it at my destination is not an option.

  11. Really waiting for their album!
  12. Hi David, thanks for the warm welcome. I know Sodom and Accept (they are great) and will check out the others you mentioned. I am sure I will enjoy it here, so many metal enthusiasts, this must be awesome.
  13. Hi, I am 24 year old girl form Germany (currenlty Stuttgart) and a metal fan since roughly 2004. I love checking out new bands and going to concerts or festivals. While I love metal from almost any genre, I also like other music such as classical music or rock. I play guitar, but until now, never in a band, usually just by myself. Apart from music, which is very important to me, I am interested in travelling, languages, cultures, history, technology/computers, science and basically a mix of psychology, sociology, philosophy and politics. I like to read fiction as well as non-fiction and like to learn something new as often as possible, so I can easily get enthousiatic about other topics, too. I hoping to find many like-minded people, discuss metal related topics and check out new stuff.
