  1. Hopefully they would use Swiss Cheese about Swiss music and not Swedish.
  2. Indeed it is. Thinking about it every summer when im around at some festivals, Sleeping in tents. It would be really nice to have, there would be room for that too.
  3. With a risk of posting this on the wrong spot, but i think Summoning fits as good here as in the BM category. The Atmosphere is like no other, And this Austrians love for Tolkien is hard to miss. CHQJNix6oUc
  4. Halford is my all-times favorite in this category. Jon Oliva have a good characteristic voice too. For more harsher id say Jörgen Sandström from Grave/Torture Division. Usually I dont focus as much on the vocalist while listening to more brutal stuff.
  5. Id like a hearse, Only so i could have a coffin shaped fridge for my beer during summer.
  6. Oh, I think you all should listen to this, Sadly it never become more than a three song demo. He was such a brilliant vocalist.
  7. Second that one. Christopher Lee would also be interesting.
  8. Nifelheim are among my favorites, But Deströyer 666, Marduk, Aura Noir, Kill, Watain and Craft have done som great ones too. Satyricon usually do great live performances, but on rather too new material. Mayhem, Gorgoroth, Immortal and a few others havent really impressed me at all.
  9. I saw them live this summer, With Hoest from Taake as vocalist. Kind of different from my last experience which were at Wacken some years ago, when they had Gaahl and King, but no Infernus.
  10. Its a sad thing we are more or less indoctrinated joking about Norway. Abba is a name I rather dont speak loud about.......

  12. I'd say Sweden of course. If the discussion was about Black Metal only there would be heavy competition. But most of the other subgenres, We have more bands it seems. Cant name a single good Heavy or Doom metal band from Norway without doing research first. And not to forget, It's not unusual here to laugh at the entire music industry in Norway. (With BM left out of that)
  13. I excanged a few words with Tompa Lindberg about their new release a few weeks ago and he seemed so confident about it. I think it sounds Soulless more than anything.
  14. Best Gig, Singular. I have no idea, Its been a few really good ones. But I did see King Diamond in a small venue in 2006 which was really damn great, The intro from Abigail and the childsized coffin on stage. Always going to remember that one. Watain did a gig in 2010 in honor of Bathory, Which was really good. Grave Miasma did an incredible good performance last year too. Necros Christos played right after and i didn't remember their setlist even, too overwhelmed. Then there are always some bands that always do great shows like Behemoth, Fields of the Nephilim or Nifelheim etc. Which ive seen several times.
  15. Dark Funeral's only thing i admire is some of the members involvement in Sportlov.
  16. Medieval Steel - Medieval Steel I cant stop listening to this. Its Epic in a way Manowar never can do.
  17. Thanks for the warm welcome ! Gorbo, Sure I will. I hail from Sweden. Usually prefer to pend between genres but my favorites lies in Black and more straight forward heavy metal. Judas Priest have been my favorite band since i don't remember. When it comes to Black metal i sometimes feel like a elitist since i prefer Swedish bands over the Norwegian and the rest. At the moment Im in a phase, listening to bands like Grand Magus, Medieval Steel, RAM, Malice, Savatage, Running Wild.
  18. This is still the forum Ive had the best experience of so far. Thereby, Im back.
  19. I used to be annoyed by the amount of subgenres. Mostly because Ive meet too many elitists discussing em like some sort of science, And then looking down on those who doesn't understand the difference. Today on the other hand, I use em as guidelines. Without borders.
  20. 1 Bolt Thrower - Entrenched 2 Cruel Force - Under the sign of the moon 3 RAM - In Victory 4 Judas Priest - Last Rose of the summer 5 Marduk - Bloodtide 6 Judas Priest - Stained Class 7 Toxic Holocaust - War is Hell 8 Deströyer 666 - Rome wasn't destroyed in a day 9 Necros Christos - The Pharaoic Dead 10 Craft - Principium Anguis
  21. Well this was interesting indeed. Another band to look up further. Apart from bands like Sabbat i have yet to look into the Japanese scene.
