My first was some no name, brand amp that came with my first guitar, a knock off Fender Strat. It only had a clean channel, and even when I bought an Epiphone Les Paul about a year later, the tone it produced, sounded God, awful, muddy and tinny at the same time.
 
currently, I’m using a Peavey Envoy 110 which I’ve had for close to 15 years, probably about time I pick up something newer if I’m honest.

Doomscrawler - Obsessed By Sickness EP (2024) {Germany}
The best way to describe this is less than the sum of its parts, it sounds like old school, death metal, but feels like the sterile modern product that really does nothing for me. There’s interesting riffs to be found, but the songs are put together in the least interesting way, and yet of the handful of 2024 albums I’ve checked out today. This was probably the most interesting or enjoyable. So yeah safe to stay today’s new discoveries have been less than Stella 

Well unfortunately I’ve had no luck in actually finding work now that I’ve completed my qualifications, the best I’ve managed so far was one place at least doing me the courtesy of replying to my email with what amount to a thanks but no thanks. I guess I’m making the most of my free weekends while I can I know once I do get that job it’s going to be 14 hour days six days a week though hopefully not from the very beginning

yeah I had a few Stone IPAs when I was in LA a few years back, if I could get that particular, one here, I’d snap it up in a heartbeat.

As for me well, I swung by a couple of breweries yesterday first was Big Shed Brewing for a hazy ale probably the second best of the four beers I knocked back there, had almost a hint of pineapple it, which I’ve not had in a beer before. What they call their American and Australian style ales were completely forgettable but their golden ale was very unique. I liked that one enough to pick up a four pack. Taste a little bit like butterscotch, anyway, then it was on to Shapeshifter brewery for a perfectly average Pilsner and a passable hazy ale. 

I am much too lazy to go back and multi quote so instead, I’ll just rattle off the things I want to say here:
One. Navy congrats on making me insanely jealous, MDB our second only two Death as my all-time favourite band, and I’d give what is left of my eyesight to catch them, live one day, I also hear BG are great live so it’s good to know from someone with firsthand experience. That’s the case if they ever make their way down under.
2. For me Neon Black is peak Nevermore though I will admit that’s largely because that was the first of their albums I ever heard, godless endeavour is second and politics of ecstasy is third in my books.
3. Hell yeah James MDB have the best discography out of the Peaceville three, it’s not flawless, but there are a lot of high points in there.

okay, so getting the obvious out of the way that’s a stupid name for a band, now it is entirely possible that’s just my text to speech software not reading things correctly but otherwise come on… now, for the music, no frills death metal, it’s certainly done well, just don’t expect this album to reinvent the club, the one we’ve got still works just fine for bludgeoning people over the head…
it’s just dawned on me that we are barely over a month into 2024, and already I’ve heard the same amount of new releases for this year that I did in the entirety of 2023

Re B…tA if I want something atonal I have Gorguts, Portal, etc etc, maybe one day, it will click but for right now I don’t see the appeal.

Nah he had it right the first time. BtA might understand songwriting better than Spawn of Possession, but that’s like saying Hungry Jack’s (Burger King for you Americans) know how to make a better burger than McDonald’s either way within an hour you’re going to regret your life choices.

Old-school sounding death metal, initial thoughts this isn’t bad.

I must admit, even though I’m probably the biggest Doom fan on the forum, even I can’t get into Drone.
