  1. Re: Best Metal Frontman? Absolutely my fav frontman (though never seen live...) is Lemmy. There's just something in him that would make my pants wet if I would be girl. Since I'm guy, I just admire him a lot
  2. Re: What gear do you use? Damn, you're living in Australia Really would love to visit there... But yeah, wintertime ain't so great to be playing outside. Especially when it's snowing O.o
  3. Re: What gear do you use? Hey murph, have you gotten acoustic guitar yet? If not, I reckon to get one quickly. Summer is good time to be playing (or even holding) guitar around outside Just been watching as my friend carries his guitar always to parks and everywhere and gets people (especially females) around him as he plays. I wonder if acoustic bass would do the same...?
  4. Re: What Are You Listening To? Amon Amarth - Valhalla Waits Me
  5. Re: I want to learn how to growl Was gonna give some more specific advices on the matter, but @BlutAusNerd, @Barbie1989 and @Ranothin handled the situation already in here as well as I know things in my end, so no need for me anymore to add anything. All I can do is link one of my favorite explanations more on the subject of what not to do:
  6. Re: Dungeons and Dragons I started in Ravnica so I'm quite new player myself... But been enthusiastically learning the game ever since. Online games are usually little different than what the game is in general. All the rules and triggering effects don't always seem to work as they do in real game with cards. Plus with playing with good guys is always fun But as it comes to online playing, you can get and play Magic: The Gathering - Tactics for free from Steam for example, though it's not so much a card game as it's just strategy game with MtG-like graphics. Duels of the Planeswalkers seems to be more like the original card game, but I haven't been able to test it out yet since the money issue. Maybe at some point I'll get it and start playing it also, but now at the moment Diablo 3 is eating all my gaming time
  7. Re: Dungeons and Dragons @NTNR: Neutral Good Human Ranger/Sorcerer (2nd/2nd Level) That was a fun test
  8. Re: Dungeons and Dragons @BlutAusNerd: Extended and Legacy are different formats. EDH/Commander is something that came up from Canada I think and it's getting more and more attention. First it was just unofficial mode to play, but now WotC (Wizards of the Coast, owner of MtG) has gotten it also included in their supported formats. WotC still gives all rights from inventing the format and handling the rulings for it to the original http://mtgcommander.net site. Basic idea is that you have a deck consisting of 100 different cards (except for basic lands) and one of those is your commander that has to be Legendary Creature. You can summon commander from it's commander post as it would be in your hand and if it would die (go to the graveyard or you would bury it, which ever term suits you) or it would go to exile (remove from the game) you can return it to it's commander post. You have 40 life as starter and can withstand 21 combat damage from opponents commander until you die (you can't heal that). Then it's pretty much the same as usually. Oh yeah, all cards are included (except for really small banlist) and they are playable right after pre-release. I recon to check http://mtgcommander.net and to do a deck for yourself. It's one of the best formats I've ever played
  9. Re: What gear do you use?
  10. Re: Dungeons and Dragons I play. Both D&D and MtG. We have one campaign that has been going on about three or so years because we have rarely our whole group together... We had another campaign also, but it kinda failed due to misunderstandings between our DM and group so we're starting a new campaign on same people soon. In the longer campaign we use 3.5 rules and the upcoming will be on Pathfinder rules. We tried 4th Edition, but it didn't work so well with us... MtG I've been playing for several years now also and tomorrow I'll go check the local strip club since they play EDH/Commander format in there. Just got my EDH deck fixed so we'll see how it goes with the distraction of tits
  11. Re: What gear do you use?
  12. Re: What gear do you use? Haven't tried one of those either, but what I checked, they don't have so much 5-string basses with dual humbucker mics in them. That's one thing I've gotten in liking when choosing a bass to play. But I'll give one try if I'll get my hands on one.
  13. Re: What gear do you use? I reckon using Google Chrome, it's been working like a dream for me. Used to use FF, but 'bout a year ago changed. As it comes to topic related issues, only reason for me to get a Rickenbacker is just the Lemmy issue. Maybe when I'll get my hands on one I'll start liking it more that Ibanez, but until then I'll be a Ibanez fanboy
  14. Re: What gear do you use? I've gotten into liking of Ibanez guitars both guitars and basses, but someday I'll get enough money to buy 5-string Rickenbacker. Just 'cos Lemmy has Rickenbacker
  15. Re: Rate the song above you! 8/10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQUB5oglk5I
  16. Re: Who do you really, really hate... I don't like straight covers either, you should make it always to represent your own unique style. But the dilemma here is that I'm not (at least yet) confident enough to take it under work to make my own Ace of Spades... Maybe after I finish Adagio for G-minor by Tomaso Albinoni cover for one bass, I'll be able even to try to make a cover of mine from Ace of Spades.
  17. Re: What Are You Listening To? Covenant - Nexus Polaris (currently playing Chariots of Thunder)
  18. Re: Who do you really, really hate... True. I've been thinking of doing a cover of Ace of Spades by Motörhead but the reason holding me back is that one does not simply cover Motörhead or other metal Gods...
  19. Re: Greatest Bassists I don't have hatred against any of those classic bands, it's just that I listen to some and I don't listen to others. For example I think that Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath is one friggin' big reason why we have black/death metal these days. One bassist that I also like is Stian Arnesen due to his work on Nexus Polaris by Covenant (nowadays it's Kovenant because of those damn swedes...)
  20. Re: Rate the song above you! 7/10 I'd use this to get pumped up for weekends night in work, but wouldn't listen so much in my free-time. Nicely aggressive though.
  21. Re: Greatest Bassists True, but I'm not such a big fan of Iron Maiden. I listen to them from time to time, but I'm not a true fan. But still I like 'em.
  22. Re: Who do you really, really hate... CoB also made Oops! I did it again listenable
  23. Re: 20 Reasons I'll never See "Rock of Ages" That list seems quite appropriate to what I'm thinking. But still I'm thinking that it could be worth seeing to know for sure that is Hollywood really so out of touch that it seems. Maybe I can survive through it with 1 liter of rum with me and A Headbangers Journey to Metal and Lemmy documents near the player to be inserted as soon as the credits start. But no worries, I'm not gonna support Rock of Ages with my money.
  24. Re: Who do you really, really hate... GnR is pretty much glam in my opinion. OP's list had pretty much covered all of those "great names" in rock that look like girls, but for what I think, OP forgot the worst: Europe! Their Final Countdown is nice in melody, catchy and all that crap, but every time someone calls it rock, I have a flash of red in my eyes... It's a pop song. Period. They have no real rock spirit going on, they look like drags and worst of all, that song doesn't even mean anything. I mean, c'mon! "We're heading for Venus, but still we stand tall" It could represent divorce or something, except they're all the time leaving together even though it's a farewell!?
  25. Re: Greatest Bassists Sorry, that got little sidetracked from topic. But yeah, Lemmy and Cliff are absolute maestros of bass for what I think. Others are just good or geniuses.
