Yeah, Poison is more black metal, but Into the Abyss is killer. Messiah is cool, as are Necrophagia, Autopsy, Death, Obituary, etc..., but for 80's death metal, Consuming Impulse and Altars of Madness occupy the top spots for me.

That one is limp for sure, but they only got worse over time. Seriously, pull up Graveyard Classics Volume 2 on YouTube if you need a laugh, I got a lot of mileage out of the free copy I received when working at the record store.

The yard work never fucking ends. The Mrs. had her abscessed tooth extracted on Friday, so I took the day off work to take care of the kids and her while she's recovering. Of course, that's the time when my youngest happens to get sick and projectile vomit like Linda Blair on The Exorcist, and then neither of the kids slept that night, but the yard work must go on. Weeding, weeding, taking the lawnmower to get serviced when it doesn't start, mowing, more weeding, tilling, fertilizing, buying and stacking bags of mulch and rocks for when weeding the planters has concluded, and yes, more weeding. I'm exhausted. Practice was productive today though, and the recording turned out better than I thought it would, so I'll be sending it to Cody to commence with the album art shortly. It's about time too, I needed a silver lining.

I was a bit shocked last night upon seeing Impiety live, and realizing that while I've heard the name for years, I've never given them a listen. They were insane, somehow managing to sound tight and precise while nearly careening out of control throughout the whole set. They had to have played the most complex and technical bestial black/death metal that I've ever heard, and now I'm going to have to investigate their discography. Divine Eve played a killer set as well, my neck is feeling the repercussions of their unrelenting heaviness today.
