  2. Re: Demon Hunter Vs. Behemoth Behemoth crush the holy water out of Demon Hunter, and then some after smashing them again with Demigod and Zos Kias Cultus.
  3. Re: Deathcore I'm not sure what regularity you folks get deathcore threads here in your neck of the woods; but at MA we get deathcore threads every few weeks, ultimately the inclusion depends solely on moderators, the influence of metal as opposed to hardcore in the band's sound, and even possibly the bands prior albums. I honestly consider it to be a legitimate subgenre of metal, but the said quality of bands depends on who you check out.
  4. Re: Good metal bands You can't go wrong with Blood, fire, death and Hammerheart by Bathory, and if you are into lighter material such as power metal, Iron Savior, Brainstorm, Manticora, and Early Nocturnal Rites maintained a degree of heaviness but still were accessible enough for some people. Cheers!
  5. Re: what got you listening to metal? I started off listening to mallcore stuff such as Slipknot and Linkin Park before graduating to Cradle of filth, and then thanks to Darklyrics.com, I looked up some band names such as God dethroned, Rotting Christ, Dark tranquillity, Cannibal Corpse, Hecate Enthoned, Deicide, Cannibal corpse and from there I began my descent into more extreme bands. That was near 8 years ago when I was fourteen, and now I feel versed in the music enough to deduce the good bands from the shallower ones.
  6. Re: Underrated or Unknown Metal Australia has one of the most diverse metal scenes I can think of with everything from The Amenta to the classics like Bestial Warlust and Destroyer 666. Atomizer don't really get a lot of credit in my opinion, as everyone is to busy listening to hacks like Portal, Bestial Warlust as well are one of the better acts from Australia with just two albums. Ulcerate are another great band from there hailing with their atmospheric brand of technical death metal. I really came just to recommend Akitsa though.
  7. I stumbled upon this place by not including the hyphen for a smaller forum with the same name by accident, seeing as this is a larger community, and that you all seem like genuinely nice people- I figured I'd register. My name is Steven , I am 22 years old, and I love this music and eat, breathe, and sleep it, I am currently enrolled at Arizona Western College, and I will be transferring to University in the next few months. I listen to a wide variety of the music and I try to get the best out of all the subgenres, but my favorites are: black, death, hardcore and some ambient and muscular USPM. My favorite bands are: Moonspell, Marduk, Kreator, God Dethroned, Suffocation, The 3rd and the Mortal, Tiamat, 80's Slayer, Inquisition, Immolation, Septicflesh, Incantation, Rotting Christ, Bathory, those are my neverchanging bands but I listen to a great deal more. Thanks, and I am looking forward to being a contributing member of this forum.
