Re: Who is the best out of the big 4 ??? At 16 I'd have said Anthrax. At 20 I'd have said Megadeth At 24 I'd have said Metallica At 41 I'm saying Slayer! And watching the big four this past weekend reinforces that. All great sounding, but Slayer just seemed to be having the best time and sounded the best to my ears.

Re: dream theater Kind of lost interest in them after Images & Words. They are superb technical musicians, but I've always found them slightly soulless. It's a purely personal opinion of course, and I'd never criticise someone for loving them, but Mike Portnoy disappeared up his own arsehole back in about 1994 and hasn't been seen since. All that drumming has kept him supple enough to maintain all the back slapping he gives himself! I'll be interested in hearing what new stuff is like though without him.
