  1. Re: Sup dudes Welcome. Please keep threads about your band to the promotion section. Thank you. I like your music, by the way. It may make a great post for my blog.
  2. Re: TMA Discussions Part II: Physical Copies vs. Digital Fil Vinyl has been rising in popularity for a while now. It isn't going anywhere.
  3. Re: What Are You Listening To? Finishing up Deathspell Omega's album Si Monumentum Requires, Circumspice.
  4. Re: What Are You Listening To? Sodom - "Incest"
  5. Re: What Are You Listening To? Morbid Angel - "Blasphemy"
  6. Re: Ways To Kill Justin Bieber Poll You people are terrible.
  7. Re: Last.fm Hey man, check out my post in the off topic section where some of us have linked our profiles. I'll merge your thread with that one.
  8. Re: What Are You Listening To? John Coltrane - "Resolution"
  9. Re: Slayer When did you see Slayer live? Just curious!
  10. Re: What Are You Listening To? Jag Panzer - "Hell to Pay"
  11. Re: What Are You Listening To? Loudness - "Get Away"
  12. Re: Gothic Metal Still disagree. Anyway, I see where you're coming from, Iceni. I view Nightwish as a symphonic power metal band. Evanescence, on the other hand, isn't even metal. Also, the "Big Four" is just a meaningless label some fool from an incompetent magazine (or something similar in the media) tagged those four bands as. It means nothing.
  13. Re: Gothic Metal Lordi is hard rock band that occasionally oversteps into heavy metal territory. But I think you were joking. One thing that irks me is how often and incorrectly the gothic metal label is thrown around. Nightwish isn't gothic metal. Neither is Evanescence, for that matter.
  14. Re: glam and gothic metal The Darkness, as in the hard rock band? They have two albums, and apparently something planned for release this year. And no, I wouldn't put Heart under a glam label.
  15. Re: Old vs. New Yes sir. Lots of it.
  16. Re: Jackyl Not sure what you're saying is different, but whatevs.
  17. Re: Jackyl The only way they fit the scene is that they're a hard rock band. We'll agree to disagree. Hair/glam metal is not a genre of music. It's an umbrella term based on appearance. It does nothing to describe musical traits.
  18. Re: Old vs. New Well, I personally think they're both inferior to Christian, but I'm a huge fan so take my opinion with a grain of salt. The song writing has gotten worse, and Dark Matter Dimensions had one too many core elements that I couldn't ignore. My initial impression of The Unseen Empire was positive, but it slid downhill fast. I love Solution .45, but I think The Few Against Many is better. Miseration rocks as well.
  19. Re: What Are You Listening To? Continuing the Capsule addiction... Capsule - "Starry Sky"
  20. Re: Theory Buffs or "All Ears"? You don't need to know theory to embark on a musical career. But it certainly couldn't hurt.
  21. Re: Linkin Park Not my cup of tea.
  22. Re: Theory Buffs or "All Ears"? I use both. However, I think randomly playing can produce some really cool lead parts or riffs that one may not think of by using theory knowledge. It's just fun to experiment.
  23. Re: Deathcore Actually, now that I think about it, I have been to some pretty chill metal concerts, but I always avoid the pit on the off chance something stupid might happen. *shrugs* If there's no pit near the front, you'll probably find me there. If there is, I'll likely be off to the side, or some place right outside of it. Those deathcore bands you listed aren't my thing either.
