  1. Re: Gothic Metal Thread I will mention something to Tait about creating a section. I don't know where he has been lately. I'd actually like to axe the groove metal and djent (djent is a style of playing, not a subgenre of metal) sections and insert gothic in their place, but ultimately that's not up to me. We need to do away with the battle metal section, too.
  2. Re: Top 10 Albums of Any Given Year Yes, they're "good," nothing more. There is no detail. I'm only trying to engage an otherwise dead forum, and a listing thread does nothing for the cause.
  3. Re: Top 10 Albums of Any Given Decade Well, why not try to go into detail about why? That would be especially useful for those that haven't heard the records because a listing thread really doesn't do much. I see a few posters have gone into some detail. I'll have to read 'em.
  4. Re: Top 10 Albums of Any Given Decade Excellent idea for a thread, but I think explanation for each album as to why a poster included it would be interesting. I suppose I'm just used to Metal-Archives where discussion is alive and well. As for myself, I won't be as quick to put a list together because it would take some serious thought. I find these things tough, especially ranking beacuse of the sheer number of albums that are released every year. And some years have a number of excellent records.
  5. Re: BLOOD LABEL- DANISH DEATH METAL! Already listened, brah. Doing a review for them as soon as I can.
  6. Re: BLOOD LABEL- DANISH DEATH METAL! Bookmarking for listening later.
  7. Re: Megadeth - Th1rt3eN The record is pretty much throw away. I wrote a review months back. I'll post it up if there's any interest.
  8. Re: Chthonic - Takasago Army (2011) I recommend picking up a copy of the record if you can. It's great, not their best, but great. My favorite so far is Seediq Bale.
  9. Re: GOATWHORES NEW ALBUM The last one was still very good, but I'm inclined to agree with you. A Haunting Curse is sentimental to me because it's one of the first death metal-ish albums I bought by myself.
  10. Re: GOATWHORES NEW ALBUM Well, this is a bit of a failed thread in terms of the first post, but I'll be picking this one up as soon as I can. The last one was very good, so I don't expect this one will be much different. If anything, better.
  11. Re: Death Metal For the most part, I agree. There weren't any redeeming qualities to the music.
  12. Re: Vigilance - NWOBHM/Speed Metal Oh yeah, I won't be absent again, unless I notify you all of my leave. Nice to be back.
  13. Re: Vigilance - NWOBHM/Speed Metal Wow, you guys kick ass. Contact me if you'd like a review in my blog. More than happy to do so.
  14. Re: Post your shirt! Got my shirt a bit ago. Thanks a lot, Tait.
  15. Re: DODECAHDRON - Season of Mist Next time post in the correct section, please. Thread moved.
  16. Re: Fleshgod apocalypse - Agony (2011) This record is extremely disappointing. I have review written for it, and I'll submit it when I can.
  17. Re: Pictures I opened this thread expecting photography as the subject.
  18. Re: Kreator - Endorama (1999) Well, I didn't say they suck; I just prefer their early material. Enemy of God is one of my favorites.
  19. Re: New Metal Band Awakening Sun I thought that was quite decent. But please keep posts promoting your band to the "Promote Your Band" section. Thanks.
  20. Re: James Hetfield > motley crue Glenn Danzig is a big dude. That probably wouldn't have ended well.
  21. Re: What Are You Listening To? Deathspell Omega - "Sola Fide II"
  22. Re: Kreator - Endorama (1999) Indeed. All you need as an open mind (if one is used to Kreator's older material), and you'll surely find something to enjoy about it.
  23. Re: Records, CDs, or MP3s? I'm not sold at all, but I suppose I'll take your word for it. In my personal experience, that's not been the case.
  24. Re: Records, CDs, or MP3s? In my experience, that isn't true at all. Do you have a source? Because I've never seen such a claim before. If vinyl is going to wear, number of plays will vary based on a few things. The wear on vinyl will be minimal if you have a decent stylus, keep your records clean, and have good tone arm adjustable for weight and anti-skid (and you set the arm correctly). Those three things go quite a distance when trying to protect your vinyl.
