  1. Re: Municipal Waste They're great live, too. I've been on the stage singing with Ryan Waste, I was too wasted for that situation tho.. But it was great!
  2. Re: Sonata Arctica Never really cared to listen.

    Ensiferum!

Re: Ensiferum! Well that makes me even luckier, I don't like Dimmu at all!
  4. Re: no bassists? :L I can play Trollhammaren and Rasputin on the bass.. But I guess that's not quite enough :/
  5. Re: Black Metal Didn't his God teach him not to judge others? Pfft.

    Ensiferum!

Re: Ensiferum! Hah, I'm lucky because I know that they'll have gigs here in Finland no matter what.
  7. Re: BANDS I'm in love with Sui Caedere, their album Thrène is the best bm-release in 2009 (in my opinion)! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Do8KCt50vh0

  9. Re: Battle Metal, just another ridiculous "genre"?

    Ensiferum!

Re: Ensiferum! I just hope they won't try too different things!
  11. Re: Black Metal Instead of writing something like that I'd be glad if you told me what (musically) is so bad about the music that you detest it?
  12. Re: Christian Black Metal I've heard that they made it up so that they would get more teens to join the church, lol.
  13. Re: Bon Jovi Are you surprised about Wikipedia not being right when it comes to specifying a band's genre? ...

    Ensiferum!

Re: Ensiferum! Ensiferum is a band I'll never get tired of. I've been listening to them for years now, I've seen them live countless times and they've never let me down! I liked Jari Mäenpää more than I like Petri Lindroos altho he's great, too. When it comes to favorite albums I must say that I prefer the older ones. From Afar was fresh but I truly disliked the cowboy-thing they had going on @Stone Cold Metal. I'm scared when it comes to their new album, in a interview they said that they were curious about chours and stuff, to me it seemed as if they would be aiming (a bit too high perhaps?) for something that I thought sounded more like Turisas style. But I have no idea, they're full of surprises. I love the band, truly. It's a shame that I missed their one and only gig they had here in Finland this summer. Lai Lai Hei, White Storm, Slayer of Light, Into Battle, One More Magic Potion.. Too many favorites!
  15. I think it would be great if there would be a section for other music, even tho this is a metal forum it would be nice to be able to discuss other music aswell - get to hear what people think about different music. edit: You wouldn't have to create a different section for every single heavy metal subgenre either if something in that direction existed.
  16. What band do you think that is the absolutely worst/ridiculous black metal band you've ever heard of? I wish I'd remember some of the horrifying shit I've heard but right now all I can think of is Gallhammer.

    Pantera !

Re: Pantera ! I love Far Beyond Driven.
  18. 'ey there! I definitely think that Finnish folk metal is worth being mentioned separately, many of my favorite folk metal bands come from Finland. Moonsorrow, Wintersun, Finntroll, Ensiferum, Turisas, Korpiklaani, Kivimetsän Druidi, Cadacross, Battlelore, Amorphis.. Have you heard Finnish folk metal, do you think it stands out from the rest, which are your favorite bands?

    Sui Caedere

    Unknown, Thrène, from Canada, Amazing.
  20. Re: Quorthon (Thomas "Ace" Forsberg) I don't mean the trendy folk metal by that. I think you definitely should read about the man, it's hard for me to believe that anyone who's into metal haven't even heard of him. He's a legend.
  21. Can't you afford the guitar of your dreams or are you planning on building one, what's it like? Tell me!
  22. Re: The best Power Metal bands I don't really listen to power metal but Manowar always lifts my mood, Sabaton is all right too.
  23. Re: Anouther.. I'd love to find out more about this genre, I mean, seems interesting. I've only heard Bongzilla.
  24. Yes, "Christian" black metal. What do you think about it? It made me laugh, I find it hilarious. Is there anyone who knows anything about this weird-ass genre which seems so.. eh, I don't know, I'm speechless. "Christian black metal, also called Unblack metal, is black metal with Christian lyrics. The term comes from one of the first Christian black metal albums, Hellig Usvart (which means Holy Unblack), by Horde, released in 1994. The most notable bands in this genre are Antestor, Crimson Moonlight, Horde, Slechtvalk and Drottnar. The entire movement has faced opposition from Christians and secular/satanic bands as well. It’s still a very controversial genre, although it’s a lot more accepted than it was back in the 1990’s."
  25. What do you think about Quorthon from Bathory, the man who is considered as the creator of "Viking metal", the man who formed the band that now is considered as one of the first black metal bands ever. Well he's got my props.
