Re: Prescient - Instrumental prog metal good idea, and yeah i see where you're coming from, having vocals makes music more accessible to people because they can either sing along, or take something from the songs meaning, but sometimes it can get in the way of the creative visions that the band see themselves as, it's definitely a tricky situation listen to some animals as leaders best instrumental djent band goin' and people say they would be better with vocals, but i say, like yourself, that it would become too busy and difficult to break down into individual musicianship

Re: PANTERA VS. LAMB OF GOD that is a hard one, if you like the heavier stuff then lamb of god would be more suited to you, but if you like good old fashioned metal then pantera would be good they are so similar in a lot of ways, it's all just down to personal preference

Re: Records, CDs, or MP3s? i'm torn between the availability and compactness of a CD and the nostalgia factor of records, nothing beats an old record being played on an old record player, it's such a good feeling

Re: Avant-Garde Metal what is deemed avante garde is definitely to do with the time period it happens to be in, what was once avante garde is not now, and what is avante garde now may not be in future it's one of those things that is always changing and evolving, i tend not to use the term too much because people either don't agree when i say something is avante garde, or they don't know what i'm talking about
