  1. Love the Dude meme. Just a little hyperbole to point out that Sam jams with a lot of people from a lot of different genres of rock, and music in general.
  2. Yes, Sammy the Red Rocker Hagar. Everybody wants to play with Sam unless you are a complete a-hole.
  3. I agree that James's voice was better than Dave's. Again, I love both bands, but Megadeth got the edge after awhile with me.

  5. I'm not ashamed to say that I love 80s hair metal. I probably preferred the edgier hair metal like Motley Crue, GnR, and Skid Row, but I loved Warrant, Poison, and Cinderella. A good hair metal power ballad was perfect for squeezing my girlfriends back in the day.
  6. Holy Wars and Tornado of Souls.
  7. For me, Sammy Hagar. He took Van Halen to new heights. I'll always be grateful for Dave's significant contributions to Van Halen's success, but he thought he was "the" guy--not so much. I also have to give a shout out to Brian Johnson and Ronnie Dio.
  8. I was a Metallica fan first, but they lost me after the Black Album. Megadeth has had better post-heyday output, in my opinion.
  9. Robert Hinkle here. I've been looking for a new forum dedicated to all things metal and rock. My favorite band of all time is Van Halen. I loved the 80s rock and hair metal scene, as well as the emergence of Metallica and Megadeth--yep, I love 'em both. Some of my other favorite bands from the 80s: Motley Crue, Warrant, Poison, Cinderella, and Guns 'n Roses. Of course, I love the Gods of Rock--Led Zeppelin. I am also nostalgic for acts like Styx, Foreigner, and KISS. Anyway, thanks for having me and I hope to have many great conversations and debates about our favorites. Rock on, Robert
  10. I can see that. It certainly has shades of the RIP era. I just think it's killer.
  11. Thanks for the welcome guys. I hope it's okay to jump right into the conversations. I really dig Megadeth's latest album. I think it bridges some of the early Megadeth vibe with the vibe around Dystopia. I'm a sucker for it.
  12. First post on the forums. This album is killer. The title track, Life in Hell, Dogs of Chernobyl, Celebutante, We'll Be Back, and This Planet's On Fire are my favorite. This is a mutha-effer of an album. Mustaine and Co. are firing on all cylinders.
