I'm an aspiring drummer who's been learning for one and a half years now. I listen to mostly extreme metal. For a few months now I've been hearing blast beats all wrong. Like often when I hear a traditional blast beat (y'know BSBSBSBSBSBS) I always end up locking into the sound of the snare. It's really throwing me off and it makes everything I listen to sound just... let's just say not great. It makes the music sound off-tempo and all screwed up and choppy, for lack of a better word. Anyone else experienced something like this? I don't know what to make of it but it's driving me crazy.
