  2. Warkrusher - Armistice Canadian Death/Thrash/Crust Not as Bolt Thrower-esque as I expected, but it's good https://desolaterecords.bandcamp.com/album/warkrusher-armistice

  8. Nocturnal Mortuary - Tales From The Cemetery
  9. Cosign this whole statement 100%. I'm not looking for anything revolutionary, but if a whole album goes by and you haven't managed to get me to perk my head up from what I'm doing for even a riff or two, then there's just nothing there. Saw a comment once on another board, they were talking about those caveman-core bands, and I think they nailed why they sound so uninspired. It's because they're not even taking their ideas from the better death metal bands from before. Instead the vast majority seem to take their ideas from the first batch of bands to come out of that scene. So you just get these copies of copies of bands that really didn't have much to bring to the table to begin with
  10. Black Grail - Misticismo Regresivo https://virupi.bandcamp.com/album/misticismo-regresivo
  11. Yeah brother, I think we talked about it when Djinn came out and we basically both came to the same opinion. Devoid of Light was pretty solid, but each follow up album seems to be weaker than the last. My comment about them being propped up was more in regards to how most people seem to be thinking just the opposite, to the point I recently saw someone refer to Djinn as a "modern day masterpiece". Considering the direction they're moving in, comments like that make me wonder a bit about the taste of their fan base, and if its the increasing emphasis on the non-black metal elements that's making them seem more and more appealing. Solipnosis - Sintesis Silenciosa Proggy blackened death thrash (if there is such a thing) from Chile. You guys on the weirder end of the music spectrum might enjoy this https://virupi.bandcamp.com/album/sintesis-silenciosa
  12. It's funny because I don't think I even made it to the "grower" stage with Djinn, yet apparently its was considered their best album up to that point. Starting to think this band is mostly getting propped up by people who don't actually like black metal, but still want to be able to tell everyone they listen to black metal. Welkin - 武勇 / Emblems of Valour from Singapore https://welkin.bandcamp.com/album/emblems-of-valour
  13. Chilean Death Metal Day INFAMOVS will release their first new album in roughly 6 years. Look for "Stench" to drop sometime towards the end of 2023. ...and motherfucking Sadism will be dropping their new album, "Obscurans", at the end of November Not Chilean Death metal, but new Desecresy is out "Deserted Realms"
  14. Konfession - Rural Hypostasis https://konfession-iec.bandcamp.com/album/rural-hypostasis
  15. Skuggeheim - Daudssyklusen Mostly overlooked, one man, lo-fi Norwegian black metal. Comp of all his EP releases including the newest one. It's actually not as rough sounding as I was expecting, and there are a surprising number of melodic, interlude tracks on here with no actual vocals https://terraturpossessions.bandcamp.com/album/daudssyklusen
  16. Here...Revealed is on Bandcamp in its entirety https://thorybos666.bandcamp.com/album/monuments-of-doom-revealed Immortal - Pure Holocaust
  17. https://www.quora.com/Whats-the-difference-between-dragons-wyverns-drakes-and-wyrms A drake is dragon with no wings...essentially an overgrown lizard ...and Zack is still kicking. I see him pop up in my Bandcamp feed every once in awhile.
  18. Dungeon - Purifying Fire https://dungeon2.bandcamp.com/album/purifying-fire-2 British speed metal
  19. Strikehammer - Chaotic Spell Italian blackened speed metal https://strikehammer.bandcamp.com/album/chaotic-spell
  20. BLOODY SACRIFICE - Perpetua Apoteosis Mística Suprema Inmolación https://forgottentreasures.bandcamp.com/album/perpetua-apoteosis-m-stica-suprema-inmolaci-n ...blackened death from Chile Probably are...it's a solo project where dude does all the instruments himself
  21. Suphur Aeon - Swallowed by the Ocean's Tide Man, there's like two or three songs I could have chosen from this album for that other thread
  22. Absolutely second this...in fact this was the first song that came to mind for me. A few more: Sulphur Aeon - Incantation The very beginning of the very first song (0:00) hits like an absolute hammer. Especially after the really great into track on this album, which actually feels like it's leading up to something rather than some tacked on afterthought. I actually recommend listening to them both together to get the full effect. Bolt Thrower - At First Light Honestly, this whole song smokes from start to finish, but at about 2:50 in...STAN-DING...AT THE EDGE! King Diamond - Arrival At the 2:52 mark, when the tempo shifts and goes into that great riff....then King comes in with his almost strained sounding vocals. This was the song that finally made me sit down and give King Diamond a chance, and it was because of that moment in particular. Taake - Myr C'mon...everyone loves the banjo song. The fact it's actually a really great set of riffs doesn't hurt either (3:20) Gjenferdsel - Dodshymne This band was kind of an early discovery for me when I was still feeling my way around in extreme metal. Overall they're pretty forgettable by pagan black metal standards, but I still find myself digging them up from time to time because of this one song, at the 4:20 mark, which starts this really great...almost triumphant sounding riff to close out the track Manegarm - Vargstnen Back when Manegarm knew how to put a song together. The 4:30 mark is when it really hits for me. It's a refrain of an earlier part of the song where it shifts from metal into folk, but this is when the song really peaks and makes you want to sing along even though you may not know the language. Midnight - Shock til Blood Short song, but the dueling guitar solo at 1:25 is why this is still my favorite Midnight song Chapel - Hell Breaks Loose The fucking intro riff...damn this song slays! I'll be back with more later EDIT: Fuck almost forgot Slugathor - The Smoke Again...whole song slays from start to finish, but the 4:20 mark...where it kicks back into that riff from earlier all by itself. Then the vocalist pops in with on the second run through, then the whole band kicks back in on the third go around
  23. Vesthangarth - Ominous Path of Spectral Knowledge https://vesthangarth.bandcamp.com/album/ominous-path-of-spectral-knowledge
  24. Mephorash - Krystl-Ah (preview track) https://regainrecords.bandcamp.com/album/krystl-ah Not sure about this one. Mephorash has always been kind of hit-or-miss and while the second track was decent the first one didn't really grab me. Guess we'll have to see how the rest sounds when it comes out
  25. Antrisch - EXPEDITION I : Dissonanzgrat https://antrisch.bandcamp.com/album/expedition-i-dissonanzgrat
