  1. In all seriousness, you couldn't have listened to a worse album by them as that's the first, and only one, they've ever really managed to shit the bed on. Try either Archidoxes of Evil or Power ~ Purity ~ Perfection...999
  2. I think I get what you're saying....I find the "buzzsaw" sound from a lot of the recent 3rd rate HM2 copycat bands seems to have an almost artificial note to it that isn't there with the 90's bands. It's not clean, because it still has that recognizable fuzzy tone, but it doesn't sound quite right either. They're not a band I reach for a lot, but I always enjoyed early Morgoth. They kind of remind of what Death would have sounded like if Chuck hadn't gone in a more technical/progressive direction
  3. Not sure how many of those you'll end up liking, but overall I find that to be a really good list. I enjoy probably about 85 - 90% of those bands. Found a couple of new ones to try as well
  4. Nachtmaar - Sign Of The Antichrist https://hexenkult.bandcamp.com/album/sign-of-the-antichrist
  5. No one else, huh? ...please, do tell 😜 Leidensweg - Carn Dûm https://twotowerstapes.bandcamp.com/album/carn-d-m
  6. New album by Odz Manouk is actually due out sometime this year
  7. Maȟpíya Lúta — Wowahwala Their first demo didn't really make an impression on me, but this one definitely clicked a lot better.
  8. Ondfødt - Det Österbottniska Mörkret https://ondfodtblacklion.bandcamp.com/album/det-sterbottniska-m-rkret
  9. I know this is an old post, but this just kind of made me chuckle because I swear, and maybe it's my area or just because I live in band shirts, but for some reason I could throw a rock and probably manage to hit someone who listens to metal. I've run into them in stores, on airplanes, in classes. Hell, barely a week ago I was over at a local boating supplies place picking up some wire terminals and the dude working there asks if I need a hand. Next thing I know he's asking me if I was actually at Metal Threat (had my festival shirt on) and if I like Ruins of Beverast.
  10. CaveGhoul - Until the Light May Take Me https://hammerandflailrecordings.bandcamp.com/album/until-the-light-may-take-me
  11. Cheers and welcome aboard. We'll try not to traumatize you too badly
  12. It's because 2/3 of IP are members of Portal, so they're usually thought of as a side project, though technically IP existed before they joined Portal
  13. Asphyx- Death, the Brutal Way Blood - Inferno Desultory - Counting Our Scars Incantation - Vanquish in Vengeance (if 6 years between releases is long enough) Mortem - Deinós Nekrómantis
  14. Demonslaught 666 - Nekroslaughter Battlefield https://demonslaught666.bandcamp.com/album/nekroslaughter-battlefield
  15. Well, for one, I believe it's being solicited as a documentary, not just a movie, so there should probably be some standards regarding authenticity when you're supposedly presenting factual information. I think the bigger issue, though, is just the sheer hypocrisy regarding the double standards when it comes to things like casting or cries about "cultural appropriation" in current times. If people are fine with things like colorblind casting and openly borrowing stories/history/etc from cultures they have no claim to, I'm completely willing to accept that...but be fucking consistent. That door needs to go both ways and no one better say a goddamn thing when Hollywood goes back to doing stupid shit like casting John Wayne as Genghis Khan. Instead though, we're going to continue dealing with bullshit where the same people who support the director of this Cleopatra flick telling actual Egyptians to sit the fuck down about their own culture, are also throwing a complete shit-fit over the girl cast in the live action Lilo and Stitch movie because she's apparently the wrong shade of Hawaiian.
  16. New Fellwinter album was released about a week ago. New Torture Rack is on the way...weird to see them on 20 buck Spin though https://20buckspin.bandcamp.com/album/primeval-onslaught Welkin - Emblems of Valour Black Metal from China...wish it wasn't quite so polished (that seems to be the case with a lot of Chinese black metal I've heard), but musically it's pretty good. https://pestproductions.bandcamp.com/album/emblems-of-valour
  17. Had these on CD since they were reissued a few years ago, but a recent conversation with friends got me to track them down on vinyl...price wasn't too bad, either
  18. Burial Hordes - Ruins Greek Blackened Death https://burialhordesdm.bandcamp.com/album/ruins-death-black-metal?from=fandiscflw
  19. Homselvareg - Ventunesimo secolo https://homselvareg.bandcamp.com/album/ventunesimo-secolo
  20. Mystic Charm - Shadows of the Unknown
  21. Thought it might be a fun way for my metal-dabbling nephew and I to get together and hang out, so I'm actually debating it...Most of the lineup is weak, but there's a few in there that are worthy: Hulder Undeath Spectral Wound Spirit Adrift Necrofier Vomit Forth Deceased Outer-Heaven Demiser Sadistic Ritual Cemetery Piss
  22. https://catharticdm.bandcamp.com/album/through-the-abysmal-gates-of-subconscious Not bad, couple of decent solos, but I've heard it a thousand times
