I don't think their stuff is too hard to get in the US, as their record label has a US distro: https://shopusa.season-of-mist.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?p=1&q=drudkh

Does anyone know if they plan on making an entire series of movies of the Frank Herbert novels? I've never (and probably will never) read the Brian Herbert ones because I hear nothing but awful things about them, but I own the 6 Frank novels and have read the first three thusfar and really enjoyed them.

I'd like to see movies made out of William Gibson's "sprawl trilogy" (Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive).

He has electricity because he makes really cringey videos where he tries to argue that he's not a White Nationalist and he's got a computer and obviously electricity to power synths for his more recent offerings, but his house looks like a shithole. There are panes of glass missing on the windows, it's actually really depressing to see what his life is like & I was kind of shocked when I first started watching his material. One time he showed a royalty check and it was for like $6000 US, but that many people cannot possibly be buying Burzum albums and merch because Burzum is not really the easiest black metal to listen to (Easier than Darkthrone, but still). I know that I have like five albums and a shirt, but he sells shitloads of different merch-- backpacks, mugs, hats, shirts-- all sorts of stuff emblazoned with the word Burzum and art from the albums. He's also written some kind of dry books about paganism. I had three of them and then ordered another one for my buddy one Christmas because he's a guy who likes Burzum specifically because of the notoriety.

I just don't know how he is able to support himself off of any of that unless he's got a really high-royalty deal for both his merch and his albums. He's got to do something else, or be getting welfare from the French government (which would be abjectly fucking hilarious to me, but I doubt it).

Aren't the majority of Drudkh's lyrics just taken from poems by Taras Schevchenko and other Ukrainian poets? Like they don't even write their own lyrics is what I mean, they just take poems that were already written and put them to music?

I currently have a Drudkh album coming in the mail: A Furrow Cut Short. I'm really looking forward to it getting here.

Re: Korn korn (yeah they're so bad they don't deserve correct punctuation) has to be the single worst band on the planet, horrendously bad vocals, horrible droning guitars and lazy drumming, I fail to see how ANYONE could possibly like this band

I'm not a huge fan of Dimmu Borgir compared to other bands, but this album is great for being 20 years old.

I honestly do not know. I have not listened to Belus or Fallen, so I cannot make a judgment call on either of them. A lot of me wants to say that the post-prison albums were a cash grab and a capitalization on his notoriety for the sake of making money, but then I remember the Thulean Perspective videos where he essentially says that he lives a survivalist lifestyle in rural France with his wife and however many kids he has. I guess he still gets royalties off of the Burzum albums but he can't possibly be selling that many that he is able to support himself off of the royalties alone.

That's true. My family frequently embarrasses me with the stupid shit that they believe, but I'm the black sheep of the family because I was not a "success" in life. I never got married, never had kids (don't really want either though, because then I'll have something that the system can use against me). I've got a felony charge on my record, had drug problems in the past, and am mentally ill. I don't bother talking to my father or his side of the family because they are diametrically opposed to everything about me and what I believe and do & are generally bitter and resentful that I didn't "make them proud" (because apparently the purpose of life is to live it for the benefit of others rather than for the benefit of yourself).

I don't give a shit though. I am largely happy with who I am and what I do. I never wanted to "achieve" anything anyway. I just wanted to be able to do what I wanted, which was rock out and generally get my kicks in before the whole shithouse goes up in flames. I did the college thing for two years, decided not to continue on because I didn't want to be strapped down to inescapable debt that wouldn't get me a job anyway (my former friend from high school has a PhD in English and is working hourly at a Starbucks. My sister double majored in musical performance and audio engineering and has to busk on the Toronto subway but she's fine because her fiancee makes like six figures as an IT guy).

I stopped giving a shit about pretty much everything besides metal in the 10th grade. Then I found drugs and gave a huge shit about getting fucked up for many years, but no longer give a shit about any of that anymore because I see it as an obstacle to the few, small goals that I have. I just like to have money to get the things I want, enjoy my time off from my shitty job for a company I do not believe in, and enjoy good books, music, and old video games from my childhood. My overwhelming goal is to run an online record and t-shirt store. I don't expect to get rich, but I'd like to be able to support myself by doing so. Maybe start my own record label as well.

Liar -  Falls of Torment - thrashy hardcore from mid 1990s.  Metalheads might have abandoned thrash in mid-1990s but the hardcore guys certanly did not.
Misfits - Cuts From The Crypt
Outerheaven  - In Tribute - the originals were better though the cover of Death's Secret Face from Human certainly worked

Yeah that's one of the things that I find most alienating & disturbing about modern society. The only point of being alive is to "power the global economy". It's a lot like the Matrix and I usually hate Matrix comparisons but the people in first world nations exist in a completely fake reality where we're essentially kept asleep and function as batteries to power the economy which serves to enrich less than 1/10th of 1% of the world's population.

It's pretty sickening if you actually think about it. But the problem is that we're all so much a part of the system, we exist in it so deeply, that it's impossible to see beyond it.

    This.
I like to think of myself as a sensible misanthrope. Population is the big elephant in the room at all these conferences. There are nearly 8 billion human beings on the planet. A big chunk feel entitled to live any way they want and damn the consequences, a bigger chunk think that they want to be like and aspire to be the other chunk. They keep breeding like rats.
Humans are the best and worst thing to ever happen to planet Earth. Best in the sense that intelligent life gives the universe meaning. Worst in the sense that it cannot prevent its own destruction when its staring it in the face.
COP26 is just the latest face palm. I don't really follow it because you kind of know its a ship of fools.
In the meantime all you can do is make changes in your own life. Review your food chain, every product you buy, what bank you use, where your pension is invested and who you vote for. There are many things that individuals can do.
