eld is such an underrated enslaved album 

rotting christ's "out of spirits" is a song that's really relatable for me at the moment. going through some stuff right now and both the lyrics and sound capture how i feel. it's a beautifully made song. probably my favorite tune by them.

i have a friend who is a huge kayo dot fan

a lot of the black metal elitists like hating on it, but i actually really like this album. it's not a heavy as ancient's first two albums, but i don't mind the tunefulness of it. i don't think black metal needs to be super dark and super aggressive in order to still be good black metal. a good ratio of harsh and clean vocals. it's got a nice classic late '90s melodic/symphonic black metal sound

ensiferum and tyr are by far my top two favorite folk metal bands. probably because of the death metal elements in their sounds
