  1. At the end of the day it still comes down to personal taste and preference. Just because a bunch of people claim Band X is past their used by date, or beyond their creative ability, doesn't mean it's true.
  2. All bands should be like Bolt Thrower. "We've had enough. We've done our best. There is no more albums. The band is dead." That will solve any band getting stale.
  3. OMG not a fan of all Iron Maiden albums? I wished I'd known there was bad ones before I started listening to their discog again.
  4. I did listen to the track, and while it's not my thing I also don't think it's horrendous or garbage.
  5. Most critics do have their heads up their arses, but that alone doesn't make them all wrong. It's hardly surprising that you aren't a fan of his. It would hardly be a surprise if he had no fans here at all. But to be fair none of that is an accurate reflection on how good or bad the guy actually is. Most people here dislike Metallica yet 100,000+ people in one city seem to think they are good enough to put on two concerts in one weekend. I'm not suggesting any of that makes WVH a legend but it also doesn't make him shit, surely his old man taught him something.
  6. Seems like a bit of an unfair name for a group of such finely toned and fit specimen. Does make you wonder how popular a female version called The MissFats could be.
  7. I doubt Overkill looked at it as anything but a positive move. They've been talking about it on and off for months now. Lack of organisation seemed to be their only negative about the gig. (That and Bittner was apparently feeling pretty terrible and struggled through the gig) I've never listened to Wolfgang's stuff, I have no idea how good or bad he is, but he is the sort of thing I expect as a support act from Metallica. He's in the news, he's not going to show Metallica up and many critics do say he's earned his right to be a muso playing such gigs. If anything I'm surprised Metallica haven't pulled Pantera from the line up, not because of their music but because Phil still cops bad press from many outlets and Lars and Co wouldn't want to risk any bad press.
  8. Evil Whiplash - Beyond Dimensions
  9. When Overkill played here last time it was in a 1000 capacity room. I wouldn't want to see them anywhere bigger.
  10. Most sensible people would. It's a weird concept though. According to Blitz as recent as a week ago they still hadn't been given anything more than the time to turn up. They obviously knew they were getting paid but they claimed to have no idea if punters needed to pay, or where parking was.
  11. Yeah I agree. My other problem is that too often I prefer the original recording, even if it is poor quality. Which is why I'm not 100% sure why I bought the Cav brothers new albums. Not sure what other countries were like but in Australia we got a lot of re-release albums in the 90's and 00's. Some were called tour editions, but many were incorrectly called remasters. There was heaps of 'remastered' albums that had little done to them other than a new engineer listened to the master and tweaked a few knobs. In some cases it didn't even sound like they changed anything. Remasters became a joke in Australia.
  12. Carpark-Kill It looks a bit like the worst treatment of a support act in the world. Instead of getting to open the show they get to open the carpark. Mind you in my time there was a few bands that we'd have like to send to the carpark rather than putting them on stage. Wonder if carpark support acts will be a new thing or if Metallica are just special. Given the support acts for Friday night were Pantera and Mammoth Van Halen and on Sunday night Five Fiver Date Punch and Ice Nine Kills I do think the carpark was the place to be.
  13. They are okay, but I'm not really sure they needed redoing. But then I'm not one for remasters so maybe I wasn't their target audience. Atrophy - Socialized Hate
  14. I listened to most of it and I can confirm there is songs on the album.
  15. Cavalera Conspiracy - Bestial Devastation Still not sure I needed these 2023 remixes but I own the rest of the Cav Cons albums so I guess it makes the set.
  16. Outraged doc pretending not to like anything anyone else likes!
  17. Rose Tattoo - Assault and Battery (just to ensure Doc has an exciting start to the week)
  18. That top photo is about 10 years old, he's slimmed up a bit more these days. Botox has removed the death like skin feature. (Axl is the chick on the left in the sports jacket!)
  19. Witchburner - Blasphemic Assault
  20. If someone has a decent photo of him we could make him a long haired bullet belt wearing biker jacketed hardcore metalhead pit banger I've posted more than half of those bands here, but I recently went on a hunt for more obscure shit from the 80's and 90's. Of course some of it turns out to be not that obscure and some of it turns out to be shit.
  21. I like to pretend he's a real metal head and just posts weird stuff to try and make people think he isn't.
  22. I just wanted to prove to Doc that some of us can have fun
  23. Fuck that Titans was nearly the best album Testament have released. Except for the last song, that was shit
