  1. No idea King Gizz had pumped out another one. Not sure how anyone can keep up with these guys. Seems they drop something every few months. I'll have to check this out. Golgothan Remains - Perverse Offerings to the Void Golgothan Remains - Adorned in Ruin
  2. Ebola - Distorted Romance
  3. I keep having to go in a purge my wishlist. There's just more than I'll ever get to. Nice problem to have really. Just wish I had more time to listen to everything I save for future evaluation.
  4. I love the Meze, but they're not great for portability as all full size cans. If it's a "leave at the office" sorta thing, they'd work great. The newer Meze 109 are a good (more expensive) option, but I believe they are open-backed. The Meze sound great, but what really earns my fandom is the impeccable build quality. They are just quality. Very substantial, solid construction, easily replaceable parts, scale nicely with upgrades like cables, don't require a dedicated amp but respond well with one, long term comfortable.... I mean they should just pay me as a salesperson at this point. I've had mine since 2016 and they still look and sound brand new. All I've ever done is change out the pads (recommend the Brainwaves angled pads - $30 on amazon) and replaced a cable my cat chewed through. I will say that I've always liked Senn cans because the sound good and are super comfy, but I don't like the plasticky build quality. I've heard a lot of complaints about the HiFiMan cans too. Preach brother Hungus!
  5. Fathomless Ritual - Hymns for the Lesser Gods Void of Sleep - Wisdom of Doom They Came from Visions - The Twilight Robes
  6. Bruce Dickinson - The Mandrake Project - not bad. I didn't expect a turd burger or anything. Not a purchase, but enjoyable.
  7. The Yusef Days Experiment - Live in Malibu https://yussefdayes.bandcamp.com/album/live-from-malibu
  8. This is the truth. The smaller and filthier the venue the better. Just saw them live on the 70K fest. Never thought much of them but holy shit they blew me away. I'm a convert. Helloween used to be the only Power Metal band I really ever listened to, but I can add these guys now. Not something that will be a regular spin, but when the mood strikes. Now for some appropriate Friday music: Dead Milkmen - Eat Your Paisley!
  9. I have all Mastodon's stuff, seen them a bunch of times. Awesome show every time. This is the album everyone always points too as their best, but I prefer Once More Around the Sun. As a bass player myself, I always have extra appreciation for bands with a solid bass player that also sings. Troy is pretty badass at both. Just picked up the gatefold reissue of this last weekend and it sounds amazingly good to my ears. Better than the CD version. This will not be the full list I'll pick up for BC Friday. I've missed the last few and have a bunch built up in my wishlist I've been waiting to pick up, and I need to check out some of these you posted. Black Pyramid | Emperor Guillotine (bandcamp.com) Covenant of the Blackened Woodlands | Ithilrå (bandcamp.com) Distorted Romance | EBOLA (bandcamp.com) Senprūsija | Skyforger (bandcamp.com) Memories Of A Time To Come | Blind Guardian (bandcamp.com)
  10. They're just as douchey as the man wearing them
  11. Was a bit of a let down. Most of Naas' latest output has failed to grab me save for this which is excellent. My AOTY in 2020 iirc: Aoratos - Gods Without Name I've been trying to do this since about 2019 along with incorporating other genres I like with varying success. Music is so cheap and easily available so I usually have trouble controlling myself once I get started.
  12. I'm unfortunately too familiar with natural disasters of this sort living all my life in Hurricane country. We've managed to dodge most bullets but we still pay dearly for the appropriate homeowners insurance. 5-6K per year (and climbing) for the privilege of fighting with the insurance company and/or pay huge deductibles to get things fixed post storm. The insurance industry as a whole (home, car, health, life etc) is a complete fucking scam. Good thing our complete joke of a governor (Mr. Pudding fingers/White boots himself) has decided to do something about it..../s.
  13. Same. Still do it often. I miss the days when you had no idea about a band but could judge whether or not you should spend the precious few bucks you had based on the cover art. I mean it is better that you can preview basically everything these days before you buy, but I'm still nostalgic for the good old days of wandering through your local record store looking for the right thing to buy. Bluegrass day Mandolin Orange (now WatchHouse) - Live at GBH
  14. For sure. We don't get to choose of course, but no one would opt for that. I've had several family members make it into their 90's. All relatively independent and fully functioning until the last few months. As soon as I have to rely on others to complete the activities of daily living (ADLs), I'm ready to go. As someone who's almost died twice, you're never really ready. Always want a little more time. Best strategy is just to live every day like it's your last. Rather than advanced condolences, congrats to the old girl on a life well lived.
  15. Wolvennest - The Dark Path to the Light Wolvennest - Ritual - MMXX Wolvennest - Temple
  16. Stormkeep - Tales of the Other Time
  17. I dig it. Pulled it off your bc. Probably won't purchase it, maybe a little too weird, but I do appreciate it. Different take on folk black metal than I've heard.
  18. E.A.R. - A æ u å æ ø i æ å, æ i å u å æ ø i æ å? - this some weird T-guy stuff....proceed with caution A æ u å æ ø i æ å, æ i å u å æ ø i æ å? | E.A.R. (bandcamp.com) Kedr Livanskiy - Ariadna - Russian synth pop/ambient/electronic/trance Ariadna (ариадна) | Kedr Livanskiy (bandcamp.com)
  19. Blood Incantation - Starspawn
  20. Oh boy, who am I not seeing this year would probably be an easier answer. I'll hit the highlights on the current agenda. This week - Crowbar April - ASG, Red Beard Sodom, Candlemass, Queensryche, Autopsy, Eternal Champion, Morbid Saint, Rotting Christ, Forbidden, Demolition Hammer.... among others at Hell's Heroes May - Judas Priest Maryland Death Fest: so many fucking bands - Dismember, Archgoat, Sacrifice, Gorguts, Primordial, Vomitory, 1349, Aura Noir, Soilent Green... August - Metallica
  21. Emperor Guillotine - Black Pyramid - calling @markm - crunchy stoner tastiness Black Pyramid | Emperor Guillotine (bandcamp.com)
  22. Ithilrå - Covenant of the Blackened Woodlands Covenant of the Blackened Woodlands | Ithilrå (bandcamp.com)
  23. It is fake. Somebody has already admitted to fabricating it. I think the reunion was planned a while back and all the press with KK was engineered to draw interest prior to announcing. Dumb imo because anything Slayer does would draw major commercial interest at this point. I dunno if it's retirement money or just boredom. Most people figure out that no longer doing the things you did basically your whole life isn't quite what you thought it would be. Not uncommon to see people come out of retirement to work part-time to fill the void.
  24. Sadistic Force is pretty good. Saw them last year. Do a great cover of Blind in Texas. Blackened Motorhead isn't far off. This
